MSG 1 God spoke to Moses: NIV 1 The LORD said to Moses, MSG 2 "Command the People of Israel. Tell them, You're in charge of presenting my food, my Fire-Gifts of pleasing fragrance, at the set times. NIV 2 "Give this command to the Israelites and say to them: 'See that you present to me at the appointed time the food for my offerings made by fire, as an aroma pleasing to me.' MSG 3 Tell them, This is the Fire-Gift that you are to present to God: two healthy yearling lambs each day as a regular Whole-Burnt-Offering. NIV 3 Say to them: 'This is the offering made by fire that you are to present to the LORD: two lambs a year old without defect, as a regular burnt offering each day. MSG 4 Sacrifice one lamb in the morning, the other in the evening, NIV 4 Prepare one lamb in the morning and the other at twilight, MSG 5 together with two quarts of fine flour mixed with a quart of olive oil for a Grain-Offering. NIV 5 together with a grain offering of a tenth of an ephah of fine flour mixed with a quarter of a hin of oil from pressed olives. MSG 6 This is the standard Whole-Burnt-Offering instituted at Mount Sinai as a pleasing fragrance, a Fire-Gift to God. NIV 6 This is the regular burnt offering instituted at Mount Sinai as a pleasing aroma, an offering made to the LORD by fire. MSG 7 The Drink-Offering that goes with it is a quart of strong beer with each lamb. Pour out the Drink-Offering before God in the Sanctuary. NIV 7 The accompanying drink offering is to be a quarter of a hin of fermented drink with each lamb. Pour out the drink offering to the LORD at the sanctuary. MSG 8 Sacrifice the second lamb in the evening with the Grain-Offering and Drink-Offering the same as in the morning - a Fire-Gift of pleasing fragrance for God. NIV 8 Prepare the second lamb at twilight, along with the same kind of grain offering and drink offering that you prepare in the morning. This is an offering made by fire, an aroma pleasing to the LORD. MSG 9 "On the Sabbath, sacrifice two healthy yearling lambs, together with the Drink-Offering and the Grain-Offering of four quarts of fine flour mixed with oil. NIV 9 " 'On the Sabbath day, make an offering of two lambs a year old without defect, together with its drink offering and a grain offering of two-tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with oil. MSG 10 This is the regular Sabbath Whole-Burnt-Offering, in addition to the regular Whole-Burnt-Offering and its Drink-Offering. NIV 10 This is the burnt offering for every Sabbath, in addition to the regular burnt offering and its drink offering. MSG 11 "On the first of the month offer a Whole-Burnt-Offering to God: two young bulls, one ram, and seven male yearling lambs - all healthy. NIV 11 " 'On the first of every month, present to the LORD a burnt offering of two young bulls, one ram and seven male lambs a year old, all without defect. MSG 12 "A Grain-Offering of six quarts of fine flour mixed with oil goes with each bull, four quarts of fine flour mixed with oil with the ram, NIV 12 With each bull there is to be a grain offering of three-tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with oil; with the ram, a grain offering of two-tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with oil; MSG 13 and two quarts of fine flour mixed with oil with each lamb. This is for a Whole-Burnt-Offering, a pleasing fragrance, a Fire-Gift to God. NIV 13 and with each lamb, a grain offering of a tenth of an ephah of fine flour mixed with oil. This is for a burnt offering, a pleasing aroma, an offering made to the LORD by fire. MSG 14 Also, Drink-Offerings of two quarts of wine for each bull, one and a quarter quarts of wine for the ram, and a quart of wine for each lamb are to be poured out. NIV 14 With each bull there is to be a drink offering of half a hin of wine; with the ram, a third of a hin; and with each lamb, a quarter of a hin. This is the monthly burnt offering to be made at each new moon during the year. MSG 15 In addition to the regular Whole-Burnt-Offering with its accompanying Drink-Offering, a he-goat is to be offered to God as an Absolution-Offering. NIV 15 Besides the regular burnt offering with its drink offering, one male goat is to be presented to the LORD as a sin offering. MSG 16 "God's Passover is to be held on the fourteenth day of the first month. NIV 16 " 'On the fourteenth day of the first month the LORD's Passover is to be held. MSG 17 On the fifteenth day of this month hold a festival. NIV 17 On the fifteenth day of this month there is to be a festival; for seven days eat bread made without yeast. MSG 18 Begin the first day in holy worship; don't do any regular work that day. NIV 18 On the first day hold a sacred assembly and do no regular work. MSG 19 Bring a Fire-Gift to God, a Whole-Burnt-Offering: two young bulls, one ram, and seven male yearling lambs - all healthy. NIV 19 Present to the LORD an offering made by fire, a burnt offering of two young bulls, one ram and seven male lambs a year old, all without defect. MSG 20 Prepare a Grain-Offering of six quarts of fine flour mixed with oil for each bull, four quarts for the ram, NIV 20 With each bull prepare a grain offering of three-tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with oil; with the ram, two-tenths; MSG 21 and two quarts for each lamb, NIV 21 and with each of the seven lambs, one-tenth. MSG 22 plus a goat as an Absolution-Offering to atone for you. NIV 22 Include one male goat as a sin offering to make atonement for you. MSG 23 "Sacrifice these in addition to the regular morning Whole-Burnt-Offering. NIV 23 Prepare these in addition to the regular morning burnt offering. MSG 24 Prepare the food this way for the Fire-Gift, a pleasing fragrance to God, every day for seven days. Prepare it in addition to the regular Whole-Burnt-Offering and Drink-Offering. NIV 24 In this way prepare the food for the offering made by fire every day for seven days as an aroma pleasing to the LORD; it is to be prepared in addition to the regular burnt offering and its drink offering. MSG 25 "Conclude the seventh day in holy worship; don't do any regular work on that day. NIV 25 On the seventh day hold a sacred assembly and do no regular work. MSG 26 "On the Day of Firstfruits when you bring an offering of new grain to God on your Feast-of-Weeks, gather in holy worship and don't do any regular work. NIV 26 " 'On the day of firstfruits, when you present to the LORD an offering of new grain during the Feast of Weeks, hold a sacred assembly and do no regular work. MSG 27 Bring a Whole-Burnt-Offering of two young bulls, one ram, and seven male yearling lambs as a pleasing fragrance to God. NIV 27 Present a burnt offering of two young bulls, one ram and seven male lambs a year old as an aroma pleasing to the LORD. MSG 28 Prepare a Grain-Offering of six quarts of fine flour mixed with oil for each bull, four quarts for the ram, NIV 28 With each bull there is to be a grain offering of three-tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with oil; with the ram, two-tenths; MSG 29 and two quarts for each lamb, NIV 29 and with each of the seven lambs, one-tenth. MSG 30 plus a he-goat as an Absolution-Offering to atone for you. NIV 30 Include one male goat to make atonement for you. MSG 31 "These are all over and above the daily Whole-Burnt-Offering and its Grain-Offering and the Drink-Offering. Remember, the animals must be healthy. NIV 31 Prepare these together with their drink offerings, in addition to the regular burnt offering and its grain offering. Be sure the animals are without defect.
