Numbers 33

DBY 1 These are the journeys of the children of Israel, who went forth out of the land of Egypt according to their armies under the hand of Moses and Aaron. NIV 1 Here are the stages in the journey of the Israelites when they came out of Egypt by divisions under the leadership of Moses and Aaron. DBY 2 And Moses wrote their goings out according to their journeys by the commandment of Jehovah; and these are their journeys according to their goings out. NIV 2 At the LORD's command Moses recorded the stages in their journey. This is their journey by stages: DBY 3 They journeyed from Rameses in the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month. On the morrow after the passover the children of Israel went out with a high hand in the sight of all the Egyptians. NIV 3 The Israelites set out from Rameses on the fifteenth day of the first month, the day after the Passover. They marched out boldly in full view of all the Egyptians, DBY 4 And the Egyptians buried those whom Jehovah had smitten among them, all the firstborn; and upon their gods Jehovah executed judgments. NIV 4 who were burying all their firstborn, whom the LORD had struck down among them; for the LORD had brought judgment on their gods. DBY 5 And the children of Israel removed from Rameses, and encamped in Succoth. NIV 5 The Israelites left Rameses and camped at Succoth. DBY 6 And they removed from Succoth and encamped in Etham, which is at the end of the wilderness. NIV 6 They left Succoth and camped at Etham, on the edge of the desert. DBY 7 And they removed from Etham, and turned back to Pi-hahiroth, which is opposite Baal-Zephon, and encamped before Migdol. NIV 7 They left Etham, turned back to Pi Hahiroth, to the east of Baal Zephon, and camped near Migdol. DBY 8 And they removed from before Hahiroth, and passed through the midst of the sea into the wilderness, and went three days' journey in the wilderness of Etham, and encamped in Marah. NIV 8 They left Pi Hahiroth and passed through the sea into the desert, and when they had traveled for three days in the Desert of Etham, they camped at Marah. DBY 9 And they removed from Marah, and came to Elim; and in Elim were twelve springs of water, and seventy palm-trees, and they encamped there. NIV 9 They left Marah and went to Elim, where there were twelve springs and seventy palm trees, and they camped there. DBY 10 And they removed from Elim, and encamped by the Red sea. NIV 10 They left Elim and camped by the Red Sea. DBY 11 And they removed from the Red sea, and encamped in the wilderness of Sin. NIV 11 They left the Red Sea and camped in the Desert of Sin. DBY 12 And they removed from the wilderness of Sin, and encamped in Dophkah. NIV 12 They left the Desert of Sin and camped at Dophkah. DBY 13 And they removed from Dophkah, and encamped in Alush. NIV 13 They left Dophkah and camped at Alush. DBY 14 And they removed from Alush, and encamped at Rephidim, where there was no water for the people to drink. NIV 15 They left Rephidim and camped in the Desert of Sinai. DBY 16 And they removed from the wilderness of Sinai, and encamped at Kibroth-hattaavah. NIV 32 They left Bene Jaakan and camped at Hor Haggidgad. DBY 33 And they removed from Hor-hagidgad, and encamped in Jotbathah. NIV 33 They left Hor Haggidgad and camped at Jotbathah. DBY 34 And they removed from Jotbathah, and encamped at Abronah. NIV 34 They left Jotbathah and camped at Abronah. DBY 35 And they removed from Abronah, and encamped at Ezion-geber. NIV 35 They left Abronah and camped at Ezion Geber. DBY 36 And they removed from Ezion-geber, and encamped in the wilderness of Zin, which is Kadesh. NIV 36 They left Ezion Geber and camped at Kadesh, in the Desert of Zin. DBY 37 And they removed from Kadesh, and encamped in mount Hor, in the border of the land of Edom. NIV 37 They left Kadesh and camped at Mount Hor, on the border of Edom. DBY 38 And Aaron the priest went up mount Hor by the commandment of Jehovah, and died there, in the fortieth year after the children of Israel came out of the land of Egypt, in the fifth month, on the first of the month. NIV 38 At the LORD's command Aaron the priest went up Mount Hor, where he died on the first day of the fifth month of the fortieth year after the Israelites came out of Egypt. DBY 39 And Aaron was a hundred and twenty-three years old when he died on mount Hor. NIV 39 Aaron was a hundred and twenty-three years old when he died on Mount Hor. DBY 40 And the Canaanite, the king of Arad who dwelt in the south in the land of Canaan, heard of the coming of the children of Israel. NIV 40 The Canaanite king of Arad, who lived in the Negev of Canaan, heard that the Israelites were coming. DBY 41 And they removed from mount Hor, and encamped in Zalmonah. NIV 41 They left Mount Hor and camped at Zalmonah. DBY 42 And they removed from Zalmonah, and encamped in Punon. NIV 42 They left Zalmonah and camped at Punon. DBY 43 And they removed from Punon, and encamped in Oboth. NIV 43 They left Punon and camped at Oboth. DBY 44 And they removed from Oboth, and encamped in Ijim-Abarim, in the border of Moab. DBY 46 And they removed from Dibon-Gad, and encamped in Almon-Diblathaim. NIV 46 They left Dibon Gad and camped at Almon Diblathaim. DBY 47 And they removed from Almon-Diblathaim, and encamped in the mountains of Abarim, before Nebo. NIV 47 They left Almon Diblathaim and camped in the mountains of Abarim, near Nebo. DBY 48 And they removed from the mountains of Abarim, and encamped in the plains of Moab by the Jordan of Jericho. NIV 48 They left the mountains of Abarim and camped on the plains of Moab by the Jordan across from Jericho. DBY 49 And they encamped by the Jordan, from Beth-jeshimoth unto Abel-Shittim, in the plains of Moab. NIV 49 There on the plains of Moab they camped along the Jordan from Beth Jeshimoth to Abel Shittim. DBY 50 And Jehovah spoke to Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan of Jericho, saying, NIV 50 On the plains of Moab by the Jordan across from Jericho the LORD said to Moses, DBY 51 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye pass over Jordan into the land of Canaan, NIV 51 "Speak to the Israelites and say to them: 'When you cross the Jordan into Canaan, DBY 52 then ye shall dispossess all the inhabitants of the land from before you, and ye shall destroy all their figured images, and all their molten images shall ye destroy, and all their high places shall ye lay waste; NIV 52 drive out all the inhabitants of the land before you. Destroy all their carved images and their cast idols, and demolish all their high places. DBY 53 and ye shall take possession of the land, and dwell therein, for to you have I given the land to possess it. NIV 53 Take possession of the land and settle in it, for I have given you the land to possess. DBY 54 And ye shall take for yourselves the land as an inheritance by lot according to your families: to the many ye shall increase their inheritance, and to the few thou shalt diminish their inheritance: where the lot falleth to him, there shall be each man's [inheritance]; according to the tribes of your fathers shall ye take for yourselves the inheritance. NIV 54 Distribute the land by lot, according to your clans. To a larger group give a larger inheritance, and to a smaller group a smaller one. Whatever falls to them by lot will be theirs. Distribute it according to your ancestral tribes. DBY 55 But if ye will not dispossess the inhabitants of the land from before you, those that ye let remain of them shall be thorns in your eyes, and pricks in your sides, and they shall harass you in the land wherein ye dwell. NIV 55 " 'But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land, those you allow to remain will become barbs in your eyes and thorns in your sides. They will give you trouble in the land where you will live. DBY 56 And it shall come to pass that I will do unto you as I thought to do unto them. NIV 56 And then I will do to you what I plan to do to them.' "
