Proverbs 15:1-6

GNT 1 A gentle answer quiets anger, but a harsh one stirs it up. NIV 1 A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. GNT 2 When wise people speak, they make knowledge attractive, but stupid people spout nonsense. NIV 2 The tongue of the wise commends knowledge, but the mouth of the fool gushes folly. GNT 3 The Lord sees what happens everywhere; he is watching us, whether we do good or evil. NIV 3 The eyes of the LORD are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and the good. GNT 4 Kind words bring life, but cruel words crush your spirit. NIV 4 The tongue that brings healing is a tree of life, but a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit. GNT 5 It is foolish to ignore what your parents taught you; it is wise to accept their correction. NIV 5 A fool spurns his father's discipline, but whoever heeds correction shows prudence. GNT 6 Righteous people keep their wealth, but the wicked lose theirs when hard times come. NIV 6 The house of the righteous contains great treasure, but the income of the wicked brings them trouble.
