Proverbs 18:3-13

NRS 3 When wickedness comes, contempt comes also; and with dishonor comes disgrace. NIV 3 When wickedness comes, so does contempt, and with shame comes disgrace. NRS 4 The words of the mouth are deep waters; the fountain of wisdom is a gushing stream. NIV 4 The words of a man's mouth are deep waters, but the fountain of wisdom is a bubbling brook. NRS 5 It is not right to be partial to the guilty, or to subvert the innocent in judgment. NIV 5 It is not good to be partial to the wicked or to deprive the innocent of justice. NRS 12 Before destruction one's heart is haughty, but humility goes before honor. NIV 12 Before his downfall a man's heart is proud, but humility comes before honor. NRS 13 If one gives answer before hearing, it is folly and shame. NIV 13 He who answers before listening-- that is his folly and his shame.
