Proverbs 25:1-6

RSV 1 These also are proverbs of Solomon which the men of Hezeki'ah king of Judah copied. NIV 1 These are more proverbs of Solomon, copied by the men of Hezekiah king of Judah: RSV 2 It is the glory of God to conceal things, but the glory of kings is to search things out. NIV 2 It is the glory of God to conceal a matter; to search out a matter is the glory of kings. RSV 3 As the heavens for height, and the earth for depth, so the mind of kings is unsearchable. NIV 3 As the heavens are high and the earth is deep, so the hearts of kings are unsearchable. RSV 4 Take away the dross from the silver, and the smith has material for a vessel; NIV 4 Remove the dross from the silver, and out comes material for the silversmith; RSV 5 take away the wicked from the presence of the king, and his throne will be established in righteousness. NIV 5 remove the wicked from the king's presence, and his throne will be established through righteousness. RSV 6 Do not put yourself forward in the king's presence or stand in the place of the great; NIV 6 Do not exalt yourself in the king's presence, and do not claim a place among great men;
