Psalm 62

CEB 1 Only in God do I find rest; my salvation comes from him. NRS 1 For God alone my soul waits in silence; from him comes my salvation. CEB 2 Only God is my rock and my salvation— my stronghold!—I won't be shaken anymore. NRS 2 He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall never be shaken. CEB 3 How long will all of you attack others; how long will you tear them down as if they were leaning walls or broken-down fences? NRS 3 How long will you assail a person, will you batter your victim, all of you, as you would a leaning wall, a tottering fence? CEB 4 The only desire of this people is to bring others down low; they delight in deception. With their mouths they bless, but inside they are cursing. Selah NRS 4 Their only plan is to bring down a person of prominence. They take pleasure in falsehood; they bless with their mouths, but inwardly they curse. (Selah) CEB 5 Oh, I must find rest in God only, because my hope comes from him! NRS 5 For God alone my soul waits in silence, for my hope is from him. CEB 6 Only God is my rock and my salvation— my stronghold!—I will not be shaken. NRS 6 He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken. CEB 7 My deliverance and glory depend on God. God is my strong rock. My refuge is in God. NRS 7 On God rests my deliverance and my honor; my mighty rock, my refuge is in God. CEB 8 All you people: Trust in him at all times! Pour out your hearts before him! God is our refuge! Selah NRS 8 Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us. (Selah) CEB 9 Human beings are nothing but a breath. Human beings are nothing but lies. They don't even register on a scale; taken all together they are lighter than a breath! NRS 9 Those of low estate are but a breath, those of high estate are a delusion; in the balances they go up; they are together lighter than a breath. CEB 10 Don't trust in violence; don't set false hopes in robbery. When wealth bears fruit, don't set your heart on it. NRS 10 Put no confidence in extortion, and set no vain hopes on robbery; if riches increase, do not set your heart on them. CEB 11 God has spoken one thing— make it two things— that I myself have heard: that strength belongs to God, NRS 11 Once God has spoken; twice have I heard this: that power belongs to God, CEB 12 and faithful love comes from you, my Lord— and that you will repay everyone according to their deeds. NRS 12 and steadfast love belongs to you, O Lord. For you repay to all according to their work.
