1 God be merciful unto us and bless us <em>and</em> cause his face to shine upon us. Selah.

May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine on us—
2 That thy way may be known upon the earth, thy saving health among all the Gentiles.

so that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations.
3 Let the peoples praise thee, O God; let all the peoples praise thee.

May the peoples praise you, God; may all the peoples praise you.
4 O let the Gentiles be glad and sing for joy, for thou shalt judge the people righteously and shepherd the Gentiles upon the earth. Selah.

May the nations be glad and sing for joy, for you rule the peoples with equity and guide the nations of the earth.
5 Let the peoples praise thee, O God; let all the peoples praise thee.

6 <em>Then</em> shall the earth bring forth her fruit, <em>and</em> God, <em>even</em> our own God, shall bless us.

The land yields its harvest; God, our God, blesses us.
