Psalm 101

RSV 1 A Psalm of David. I will sing of loyalty and of justice; to thee, O LORD, I will sing. NIV 1 I will sing of your love and justice; to you, O LORD, I will sing praise. RSV 2 I will give heed to the way that is blameless. Oh when wilt thou come to me? I will walk with integrity of heart within my house; NIV 2 I will be careful to lead a blameless life-- when will you come to me? I will walk in my house with blameless heart. RSV 3 I will not set before my eyes anything that is base. I hate the work of those who fall away; it shall not cleave to me. NIV 3 I will set before my eyes no vile thing. The deeds of faithless men I hate; they will not cling to me. RSV 4 Perverseness of heart shall be far from me; I will know nothing of evil. NIV 4 Men of perverse heart shall be far from me; I will have nothing to do with evil. RSV 5 Him who slanders his neighbor secretly I will destroy. The man of haughty looks and arrogant heart I will not endure. NIV 5 Whoever slanders his neighbor in secret, him will I put to silence; whoever has haughty eyes and a proud heart, him will I not endure. RSV 6 I will look with favor on the faithful in the land, that they may dwell with me; he who walks in the way that is blameless shall minister to me. NIV 6 My eyes will be on the faithful in the land, that they may dwell with me; he whose walk is blameless will minister to me. RSV 7 No man who practices deceit shall dwell in my house; no man who utters lies shall continue in my presence. NIV 7 No one who practices deceit will dwell in my house; no one who speaks falsely will stand in my presence. RSV 8 Morning by morning I will destroy all the wicked in the land, cutting off all the evildoers from the city of the LORD. NIV 8 Every morning I will put to silence all the wicked in the land; I will cut off every evildoer from the city of the LORD.
