Psalm 105

YLT 1 Give ye thanks to Jehovah -- call ye in His name, Make known among the peoples His acts. NIV 1 Give thanks to the LORD, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done. YLT 2 Sing ye to Him -- sing praise to Him, Meditate ye on all His wonders. NIV 2 Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts. YLT 3 Boast yourselves in His Holy Name, The heart of those seeking Jehovah rejoiceth. NIV 3 Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice. YLT 4 Seek ye Jehovah and His strength, Seek ye His face continually. NIV 4 Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always. YLT 5 Remember His wonders that He did, His signs and the judgments of His mouth. NIV 5 Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced, YLT 6 O seed of Abraham, His servant, O sons of Jacob, His chosen ones. NIV 6 O descendants of Abraham his servant, O sons of Jacob, his chosen ones. YLT 7 He [is] Jehovah our God, In all the earth [are] His judgments. NIV 7 He is the LORD our God; his judgments are in all the earth. YLT 8 He hath remembered to the age His covenant, The word He commanded to a thousand generations, NIV 8 He remembers his covenant forever, the word he commanded, for a thousand generations, YLT 9 That He hath made with Abraham, And His oath to Isaac, NIV 9 the covenant he made with Abraham, the oath he swore to Isaac. YLT 10 And doth establish it to Jacob for a statute, To Israel -- a covenant age-during, NIV 10 He confirmed it to Jacob as a decree, to Israel as an everlasting covenant: YLT 11 Saying, `To thee I give the land of Canaan, The portion of your inheritance,' NIV 11 "To you I will give the land of Canaan as the portion you will inherit." YLT 12 In their being few in number, But a few, and sojourners in it. NIV 12 When they were but few in number, few indeed, and strangers in it, YLT 13 And they go up and down, from nation unto nation, From a kingdom unto another people. NIV 13 they wandered from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another. YLT 14 He hath not suffered any to oppress them And He reproveth for their sakes kings. NIV 14 He allowed no one to oppress them; for their sake he rebuked kings: YLT 15 `Strike not against Mine anointed, And to My prophets do not evil.' NIV 15 "Do not touch my anointed ones; do my prophets no harm." YLT 16 And He calleth a famine on the land, The whole staff of bread He hath broken. NIV 16 He called down famine on the land and destroyed all their supplies of food; YLT 17 He hath sent before them a man, For a servant hath Joseph been sold. NIV 17 and he sent a man before them-- Joseph, sold as a slave. YLT 18 They have afflicted with fetters his feet, Iron hath entered his soul, NIV 18 They bruised his feet with shackles, his neck was put in irons, YLT 19 Till the time of the coming of His word The saying of Jehovah hath tried him. NIV 19 till what he foretold came to pass, till the word of the LORD proved him true. YLT 20 The king hath sent, and looseth him, The ruler of the peoples, and draweth him out. NIV 20 The king sent and released him, the ruler of peoples set him free. YLT 21 He hath made him lord of his house, And ruler over all his possessions. NIV 21 He made him master of his household, ruler over all he possessed, YLT 22 To bind his chiefs at his pleasure, And his elders he maketh wise. NIV 22 to instruct his princes as he pleased and teach his elders wisdom. YLT 23 And Israel cometh in to Egypt, And Jacob hath sojourned in the land of Ham. NIV 23 Then Israel entered Egypt; Jacob lived as an alien in the land of Ham. YLT 24 And He maketh His people very fruitful, And maketh it mightier than its adversaries. NIV 24 The LORD made his people very fruitful; he made them too numerous for their foes, YLT 25 He turned their heart to hate His people, To conspire against His servants. NIV 25 whose hearts he turned to hate his people, to conspire against his servants. YLT 26 He hath sent Moses His servant, Aaron whom He had fixed on. NIV 26 He sent Moses his servant, and Aaron, whom he had chosen. YLT 27 They have set among them the matters of His signs, And wonders in the land of Ham. NIV 27 They performed his miraculous signs among them, his wonders in the land of Ham. YLT 28 He hath sent darkness, and it is dark, And they have not provoked His word. NIV 28 He sent darkness and made the land dark-- for had they not rebelled against his words? YLT 29 He hath turned their waters to blood, And putteth to death their fish. NIV 29 He turned their waters into blood, causing their fish to die. YLT 30 Teemed hath their land [with] frogs, In the inner chambers of their kings. NIV 30 Their land teemed with frogs, which went up into the bedrooms of their rulers. YLT 31 He hath said, and the beetle cometh, Lice into all their border. NIV 31 He spoke, and there came swarms of flies, and gnats throughout their country. YLT 32 He hath made their showers hail, A flaming fire [is] in their land. NIV 32 He turned their rain into hail, with lightning throughout their land; YLT 33 And He smiteth their vine and their fig, And shivereth the trees of their border. NIV 33 he struck down their vines and fig trees and shattered the trees of their country. YLT 34 He hath said, and the locust cometh, And the cankerworm -- innumerable, NIV 34 He spoke, and the locusts came, grasshoppers without number; YLT 35 And it consumeth every herb in their land, And it consumeth the fruit of their ground. NIV 35 they ate up every green thing in their land, ate up the produce of their soil. YLT 36 And He smiteth every first-born in their land, The first-fruit of all their strength, NIV 36 Then he struck down all the firstborn in their land, the firstfruits of all their manhood. YLT 37 And bringeth them out with silver and gold, And there is not in its tribes a feeble one. NIV 37 He brought out Israel, laden with silver and gold, and from among their tribes no one faltered. YLT 38 Rejoiced hath Egypt in their going forth, For their fear had fallen upon them. NIV 38 Egypt was glad when they left, because dread of Israel had fallen on them. YLT 39 He hath spread a cloud for a covering, And fire to enlighten the night. NIV 39 He spread out a cloud as a covering, and a fire to give light at night. YLT 40 They have asked, and He bringeth quails, And [with] bread of heaven satisfieth them. NIV 40 They asked, and he brought them quail and satisfied them with the bread of heaven. YLT 41 He hath opened a rock, and waters issue, They have gone on in dry places -- a river. NIV 41 He opened the rock, and water gushed out; like a river it flowed in the desert. YLT 42 For He hath remembered His holy word, With Abraham His servant, NIV 42 For he remembered his holy promise given to his servant Abraham. YLT 43 And He bringeth forth His people with joy, With singing His chosen ones. NIV 43 He brought out his people with rejoicing, his chosen ones with shouts of joy; YLT 44 And He giveth to them the lands of nations, And the labour of peoples they possess, NIV 44 he gave them the lands of the nations, and they fell heir to what others had toiled for-- YLT 45 That they may observe His statutes, And His laws may keep. Praise ye Jehovah! NIV 45 that they might keep his precepts and observe his laws. Praise the LORD.
