Psalm 106

NAS 1 Praise the LORD ! Oh give thanks to the LORD , for He is good; For His lovingkindness is everlasting. NIV 1 Praise the LORD. Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever. NAS 2 Who can speak of the mighty deeds of the LORD , Or can show forth all His praise? NIV 2 Who can proclaim the mighty acts of the LORD or fully declare his praise? NAS 3 How blessed are those who keep justice, Who practice righteousness at all times! NIV 3 Blessed are they who maintain justice, who constantly do what is right. NAS 4 Remember me, O LORD , in Your favor toward Your people; Visit me with Your salvation, NIV 4 Remember me, O LORD, when you show favor to your people, come to my aid when you save them, NAS 5 That I may see the prosperity of Your chosen ones, That I may rejoice in the gladness of Your nation, That I may glory with Your inheritance. NIV 5 that I may enjoy the prosperity of your chosen ones, that I may share in the joy of your nation and join your inheritance in giving praise. NAS 6 We have sinned like our fathers, We have committed iniquity, we have behaved wickedly. NIV 6 We have sinned, even as our fathers did; we have done wrong and acted wickedly. NAS 7 Our fathers in Egypt did not understand Your wonders; They did not remember Your abundant kindnesses, But rebelled by the sea, at the Red Sea. NIV 7 When our fathers were in Egypt, they gave no thought to your miracles; they did not remember your many kindnesses, and they rebelled by the sea, the Red Sea. NAS 8 Nevertheless He saved them for the sake of His name, That He might make His power known. NIV 8 Yet he saved them for his name's sake, to make his mighty power known. NAS 9 Thus He rebuked the Red Sea and it dried up, And He led them through the deeps, as through the wilderness. NIV 9 He rebuked the Red Sea, and it dried up; he led them through the depths as through a desert. NAS 10 So He saved them from the hand of the one who hated them, And redeemed them from the hand of the enemy. NAS 15 So He gave them their request, But sent a wasting disease among them. NIV 15 So he gave them what they asked for, but sent a wasting disease upon them. NAS 16 When they became envious of Moses in the camp, And of Aaron, the holy one of the LORD , NIV 16 In the camp they grew envious of Moses and of Aaron, who was consecrated to the LORD. NAS 17 The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, And engulfed the company of Abiram. NIV 17 The earth opened up and swallowed Dathan; it buried the company of Abiram. NAS 18 And a fire blazed up in their company; The flame consumed the wicked. NIV 18 Fire blazed among their followers; a flame consumed the wicked. NAS 19 They made a calf in Horeb And worshiped a molten image. NIV 19 At Horeb they made a calf and worshiped an idol cast from metal. NAS 20 Thus they exchanged their glory For the image of an ox that eats grass. NIV 20 They exchanged their Glory for an image of a bull, which eats grass. NAS 21 They forgot God their Savior, Who had done great things in Egypt, NIV 21 They forgot the God who saved them, who had done great things in Egypt, NAS 22 Wonders in the land of Ham And awesome things by the Red Sea. NAS 23 Therefore He said that He would destroy them, Had not Moses His chosen one stood in the breach before Him, To turn away His wrath from destroying them. NAS 32 They also provoked Him to wrath at the waters of Meribah, So that it went hard with Moses on their account; NIV 32 By the waters of Meribah they angered the LORD, and trouble came to Moses because of them; NAS 33 Because they were rebellious against His Spirit, He spoke rashly with his lips. NIV 33 for they rebelled against the Spirit of God, and rash words came from Moses' lips. NAS 34 They did not destroy the peoples, As the LORD commanded them, NIV 34 They did not destroy the peoples as the LORD had commanded them, NAS 35 But they mingled with the nations And learned their practices, NIV 35 but they mingled with the nations and adopted their customs. NAS 36 And served their idols, Which became a snare to them. NIV 36 They worshiped their idols, which became a snare to them. NAS 39 Thus they became unclean in their practices, And played the harlot in their deeds. NIV 39 They defiled themselves by what they did; by their deeds they prostituted themselves. NAS 40 Therefore the anger of the LORD was kindled against His people And He abhorred His inheritance. NIV 40 Therefore the LORD was angry with his people and abhorred his inheritance. NAS 41 Then He gave them into the hand of the nations, And those who hated them ruled over them. NIV 41 He handed them over to the nations, and their foes ruled over them. NAS 42 Their enemies also oppressed them, And they were subdued under their power. NIV 42 Their enemies oppressed them and subjected them to their power. NAS 43 Many times He would deliver them; They, however, were rebellious in their counsel, And so sank down in their iniquity. NIV 43 Many times he delivered them, but they were bent on rebellion and they wasted away in their sin. NAS 44 Nevertheless He looked upon their distress When He heard their cry; NIV 44 But he took note of their distress when he heard their cry; NAS 45 And He remembered His covenant for their sake, And relented according to the greatness of His lovingkindness. NIV 45 for their sake he remembered his covenant and out of his great love he relented. NAS 46 He also made them objects of compassion In the presence of all their captors. NIV 46 He caused them to be pitied by all who held them captive. NAS 47 Save us, O LORD our God, And gather us from among the nations, To give thanks to Your holy name And glory in Your praise. NIV 47 Save us, O LORD our God, and gather us from the nations, that we may give thanks to your holy name and glory in your praise. NAS 48 Blessed be the LORD , the God of Israel, From everlasting even to everlasting. And let all the people say, "Amen." Praise the LORD ! NIV 48 Praise be to the LORD, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. Let all the people say, "Amen!" Praise the LORD.
