Psalm 107

WBT 1 O give thanks to the LORD, for [he is] good; for his mercy [endureth] for ever. NIV 1 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever. WBT 2 Let the redeemed of the LORD say [so], whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy; NIV 2 Let the redeemed of the LORD say this-- those he redeemed from the hand of the foe, WBT 3 And gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south. NIV 3 those he gathered from the lands, from east and west, from north and south. WBT 4 They wandered in the wilderness in a solitary way; they found no city to dwell in. NIV 4 Some wandered in desert wastelands, finding no way to a city where they could settle. WBT 5 Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them. NIV 5 They were hungry and thirsty, and their lives ebbed away. WBT 6 Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, [and] he delivered them out of their distresses. NIV 6 Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. WBT 7 And he led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation. NIV 7 He led them by a straight way to a city where they could settle. WBT 8 Oh that [men] would praise the LORD [for] his goodness, and [for] his wonderful works to the children of men! NIV 8 Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for men, WBT 9 For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness. NIV 9 for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things. WBT 10 Such as sit in darkness and in the shades of death, [being] bound in affliction and iron; NIV 10 Some sat in darkness and the deepest gloom, prisoners suffering in iron chains, WBT 11 Because they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the Most High: NIV 11 for they had rebelled against the words of God and despised the counsel of the Most High. WBT 12 Therefore he brought down their heart with labor; they fell down, and [there was] none to help. NIV 12 So he subjected them to bitter labor; they stumbled, and there was no one to help. WBT 13 Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, [and] he saved them out of their distresses. NIV 13 Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. WBT 14 He brought them out of darkness and the shades of death, and broke their bands asunder. NIV 14 He brought them out of darkness and the deepest gloom and broke away their chains. WBT 15 Oh that [men] would praise the LORD [for] his goodness, and [for] his wonderful works to the children of men! NIV 15 Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for men, WBT 16 For he hath broken the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron asunder. NIV 16 for he breaks down gates of bronze and cuts through bars of iron. WBT 17 Fools, because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted. NIV 17 Some became fools through their rebellious ways and suffered affliction because of their iniquities. WBT 18 Their soul abhorreth all manner of food; and they draw near to the gates of death. NIV 18 They loathed all food and drew near the gates of death. WBT 19 Then they cry to the LORD in their trouble, he saveth them out of their distresses. NIV 19 Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. WBT 20 He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered [them] from their destructions. NIV 21 Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for men. WBT 22 And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with rejoicing. NIV 22 Let them sacrifice thank offerings and tell of his works with songs of joy. WBT 23 They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business on great waters; NIV 23 Others went out on the sea in ships; they were merchants on the mighty waters. WBT 24 These see the works of the LORD, and his wonders in the deep. NIV 24 They saw the works of the LORD, his wonderful deeds in the deep. WBT 25 For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up its waves. NIV 25 For he spoke and stirred up a tempest that lifted high the waves. NIV 26 They mounted up to the heavens and went down to the depths; in their peril their courage melted away. WBT 27 They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wit's end. WBT 31 Oh that [men] would praise the LORD [for] his goodness, and [for] his wonderful works to the children of men! WBT 37 And sow the fields, and plant vineyards, which may yield fruits of increase. NIV 37 They sowed fields and planted vineyards that yielded a fruitful harvest; WBT 38 He blesseth them also, so that they are multiplied greatly; and suffereth not their cattle to decrease. NIV 38 he blessed them, and their numbers greatly increased, and he did not let their herds diminish. WBT 39 Again, they are diminished and brought low through oppression, affliction, and sorrow. NIV 39 Then their numbers decreased, and they were humbled by oppression, calamity and sorrow; WBT 40 He poureth contempt upon princes, and causeth them to wander in the wilderness, [where there is] no way.
