NCV 1 I trust in the Lord for protection. So why do you say to me, "Fly like a bird to your mountain. NIV 1 In the LORD I take refuge. How then can you say to me: "Flee like a bird to your mountain. NCV 2 Like hunters, the wicked string their bows; they set their arrows on the bowstrings. They shoot from dark places at those who are honest. NIV 2 For look, the wicked bend their bows; they set their arrows against the strings to shoot from the shadows at the upright in heart. NCV 3 When all that is good falls apart, what can good people do?" NIV 3 When the foundations are being destroyed, what can the righteous do ?" NCV 4 The Lord is in his holy temple; the Lord sits on his throne in heaven. He sees what people do; he keeps his eye on them. NIV 4 The LORD is in his holy temple; the LORD is on his heavenly throne. He observes the sons of men; his eyes examine them. NCV 5 The Lord tests those who do right, but he hates the wicked and those who love to hurt others. NIV 5 The LORD examines the righteous, but the wicked and those who love violence his soul hates. NCV 6 He will send hot coals and burning sulfur on the wicked. A whirlwind is what they will get. NIV 6 On the wicked he will rain fiery coals and burning sulfur; a scorching wind will be their lot. NCV 7 The Lord does what is right, and he loves justice, so honest people will see his face. For the director of music. Upon the sheminith. A psalm of David. NIV 7 For the LORD is righteous, he loves justice; upright men will see his face.
