Psalm 112

NLT 1 Praise the LORD! Happy are those who fear the LORD. Yes, happy are those who delight in doing what he commands. NIV 1 Praise the LORD. Blessed is the man who fears the LORD, who finds great delight in his commands. NLT 2 Their children will be successful everywhere; an entire generation of godly people will be blessed. NIV 2 His children will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed. NLT 3 They themselves will be wealthy, and their good deeds will never be forgotten. NIV 3 Wealth and riches are in his house, and his righteousness endures forever. NLT 4 When darkness overtakes the godly, light will come bursting in. They are generous, compassionate, and righteous. NIV 4 Even in darkness light dawns for the upright, for the gracious and compassionate and righteous man. NLT 5 All goes well for those who are generous, who lend freely and conduct their business fairly. NIV 5 Good will come to him who is generous and lends freely, who conducts his affairs with justice. NLT 6 Such people will not be overcome by evil circumstances. Those who are righteous will be long remembered. NIV 6 Surely he will never be shaken; a righteous man will be remembered forever. NLT 7 They do not fear bad news; they confidently trust the LORD to care for them. NIV 7 He will have no fear of bad news; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the LORD. NLT 8 They are confident and fearless and can face their foes triumphantly. NIV 8 His heart is secure, he will have no fear; in the end he will look in triumph on his foes. NLT 9 They give generously to those in need. Their good deeds will never be forgotten. They will have influence and honor. NIV 9 He has scattered abroad his gifts to the poor, his righteousness endures forever; his horn will be lifted high in honor. NLT 10 The wicked will be infuriated when they see this. They will grind their teeth in anger; they will slink away, their hopes thwarted. NIV 10 The wicked man will see and be vexed, he will gnash his teeth and waste away; the longings of the wicked will come to nothing.
