RHE 3 (118-3) For they that work iniquity, have not walked in his ways. NIV 3 They do nothing wrong; they walk in his ways. RHE 4 (118-4) Thou hast commanded thy commandments to be kept most diligently. NIV 4 You have laid down precepts that are to be fully obeyed. RHE 5 (118-5) O! that my ways may be directed to keep thy justifications. NIV 5 Oh, that my ways were steadfast in obeying your decrees! RHE 6 (118-6) Then shall I not be confounded, when I shall look into all thy commandments. NIV 6 Then I would not be put to shame when I consider all your commands. RHE 7 (118-7) I will praise thee with uprightness of heart, when I shall have learned the judgments of thy justice. NIV 7 I will praise you with an upright heart as I learn your righteous laws. RHE 11 (118-11) Thy words have I hidden in my heart, that I may not sin against thee. NIV 11 I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. NIV 32 I run in the path of your commands, for you have set my heart free. RHE 33 (118-33) Set before me for a law the way of thy justifications, O Lord: and I will always seek after it. NIV 33 Teach me, O LORD, to follow your decrees; then I will keep them to the end. RHE 34 (118-34) Give me understanding, and I will search thy law; and I will keep it with my whole heart. NIV 39 Take away the disgrace I dread, for your laws are good. RHE 40 (118-40) Behold I have longed after thy precepts: quicken me in thy justice. NIV 40 How I long for your precepts! Preserve my life in your righteousness. RHE 41 (118-41) Let thy mercy also come upon me, O Lord: thy salvation according to thy word. NIV 41 May your unfailing love come to me, O LORD, your salvation according to your promise; RHE 42 (118-42) So shall I answer them that reproach me in any thing; that I have trusted in thy words. NIV 42 then I will answer the one who taunts me, for I trust in your word. RHE 43 (118-43) And take not thou the word of truth utterly out of my mouth: for in thy words, I have hoped exceedingly. NIV 43 Do not snatch the word of truth from my mouth, for I have put my hope in your laws. RHE 44 (118-44) So shall I always keep thy law, for ever and ever. NIV 44 I will always obey your law, for ever and ever. RHE 45 (118-45) And I walked at large: because I have sought after thy commandments. NIV 46 I will speak of your statutes before kings and will not be put to shame, RHE 47 (118-47) I meditated also on thy commandments, which I loved. NIV 47 for I delight in your commands because I love them. RHE 48 (118-48) And I lifted up my hands to thy commandments, which I loved: and I was exercised in thy justifications. NIV 48 I lift up my hands to your commands, which I love, and I meditate on your decrees. RHE 49 (118-49) Be thou mindful of thy word to thy servant, in which thou hast given me hope. NIV 49 Remember your word to your servant, for you have given me hope. RHE 50 (118-50) This hath comforted me in my humiliation: because thy word hath enlivened me. NIV 50 My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life. RHE 51 (118-51) The proud did iniquitously altogether: but I declined not from thy law. NIV 51 The arrogant mock me without restraint, but I do not turn from your law. RHE 52 (118-52) I remembered, O Lord, thy judgments of old: and I was comforted. NIV 52 I remember your ancient laws, O LORD, and I find comfort in them. RHE 53 (118-53) A fainting hath taken hold of me, because of the wicked that forsake thy law. NIV 53 Indignation grips me because of the wicked, who have forsaken your law. RHE 54 (118-54) Thy justifications were the subject of my song, in the place of my pilgrimage. NIV 54 Your decrees are the theme of my song wherever I lodge. RHE 55 (118-55) In the night I have remembered thy name, O Lord: and have kept thy law. NIV 55 In the night I remember your name, O LORD, and I will keep your law. RHE 56 (118-56) This happened to me: because I sought after thy justifications. NIV 56 This has been my practice: I obey your precepts. RHE 57 (118-57) O Lord, my portion, I have said, I would keep thy law. NIV 57 You are my portion, O LORD; I have promised to obey your words. RHE 58 (118-58) I entreated thy face with all my heart: have mercy on me according to thy word. NIV 58 I have sought your face with all my heart; be gracious to me according to your promise. RHE 59 (118-59) I have thought on my ways: and turned my feet unto thy testimonies. NIV 59 I have considered my ways and have turned my steps to your statutes. RHE 60 (118-60) I am ready, and am not troubled: that I may keep thy commandments. NIV 60 I will hasten and not delay to obey your commands. RHE 61 (118-61) The cords of the wicked have encompassed me: but I have not forgotten thy law. NIV 61 Though the wicked bind me with ropes, I will not forget your law. RHE 62 (118-62) I rose at midnight to give praise to thee; for the judgments of thy justification. NIV 62 At midnight I rise to give you thanks for your righteous laws. RHE 63 (118-63) I am a partaker with all them that fear thee, and that keep thy commandments. NIV 63 I am a friend to all who fear you, to all who follow your precepts. RHE 64 (118-64) The earth, O Lord, is full of thy mercy: teach me thy justifications. NIV 64 The earth is filled with your love, O LORD; teach me your decrees. RHE 65 (118-65) Thou hast done well with thy servant, O Lord, according to thy word. NIV 65 Do good to your servant according to your word, O LORD. RHE 66 (118-66) Teach me goodness and discipline and knowledge; for I have believed thy commandments. NIV 66 Teach me knowledge and good judgment, for I believe in your commands. RHE 67 (118-67) Before I was humbled I offended; therefore have I kept thy word. NIV 67 Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I obey your word. RHE 68 (118-68) Thou art good; and in thy goodness teach me thy justifications. NIV 68 You are good, and what you do is good; teach me your decrees. RHE 69 (118-69) The iniquity of the proud hath been multiplied over me: but I will seek thy commandments with my whole heart. NIV 69 Though the arrogant have smeared me with lies, I keep your precepts with all my heart. RHE 70 (118-70) Their heart is curdled like milk: but I have meditated on thy law. NIV 70 Their hearts are callous and unfeeling, but I delight in your law. RHE 71 (118-71) It is good for me that thou hast humbled me, that I may learn thy justifications. NIV 71 It was good for me to be afflicted so that I might learn your decrees. RHE 72 (118-72) The law of thy mouth is good to me, above thousands of gold and silver. NIV 72 The law from your mouth is more precious to me than thousands of pieces of silver and gold. RHE 73 (118-73) Thy hands have made me and formed me: give me understanding, and I will learn thy commandments. NIV 73 Your hands made me and formed me; give me understanding to learn your commands. RHE 74 (118-74) They that fear thee shall see me, and shall be glad:because I have greatly hoped in thy words. NIV 74 May those who fear you rejoice when they see me, for I have put my hope in your word. RHE 75 (118-75) I know, O Lord, that thy judgments are equity: and in thy truth thou hast humbled me. NIV 75 I know, O LORD, that your laws are righteous, and in faithfulness you have afflicted me. RHE 76 (118-76) O! let thy mercy be for my comfort, according to thy word unto thy servant. NIV 76 May your unfailing love be my comfort, according to your promise to your servant. RHE 77 (118-77) Let thy tender mercies come unto me, and I shall live: for thy law is my meditation. NIV 77 Let your compassion come to me that I may live, for your law is my delight. RHE 78 (118-78) Let the proud be ashamed, because they have done unjustly towards me: but I will be employed in thy commandments. NIV 78 May the arrogant be put to shame for wronging me without cause; but I will meditate on your precepts. RHE 79 (118-79) Let them that fear thee turn to me: and they that know thy testimonies. NIV 79 May those who fear you turn to me, those who understand your statutes. RHE 80 (118-80) Let my heart be undefiled in thy justifications, that I may not be confounded. NIV 80 May my heart be blameless toward your decrees, that I may not be put to shame. RHE 81 (118-81) My soul hath fainted after thy salvation: and in thy word I have very much hoped. NIV 81 My soul faints with longing for your salvation, but I have put my hope in your word. RHE 82 (118-82) My eyes have failed for thy word, saying: When wilt thou comfort me? NIV 82 My eyes fail, looking for your promise; I say, "When will you comfort me?" RHE 83 (118-83) For I am become like a bottle in the frost: I have not forgotten thy justifications. NIV 83 Though I am like a wineskin in the smoke, I do not forget your decrees. RHE 84 (118-84) How many are the days of thy servant: when wilt thou execute judgment on them that persecute me? NIV 84 How long must your servant wait? When will you punish my persecutors? RHE 85 (118-85) The wicked have told me fables: but not as thy law. NIV 85 The arrogant dig pitfalls for me, contrary to your law. RHE 86 (118-86) All thy statutes are truth: they have persecuted me unjustly, do thou help me. NIV 86 All your commands are trustworthy; help me, for men persecute me without cause. RHE 87 (118-87) They had almost made an end of me upon earth: but I have not forsaken thy commandments. NIV 87 They almost wiped me from the earth, but I have not forsaken your precepts. RHE 88 (118-88) Quicken thou me according to thy mercy: and I shall keep the testimonies of thy mouth. NIV 88 Preserve my life according to your love, and I will obey the statutes of your mouth. RHE 89 (118-89) For ever, O Lord, thy word standeth firm in heaven. NIV 89 Your word, O LORD, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens. RHE 90 (118-90) Thy truth unto all generations: thou hast founded the earth, and it continueth. NIV 90 Your faithfulness continues through all generations; you established the earth, and it endures. RHE 91 (118-91) By thy ordinance the day goeth on: for all things serve thee. NIV 91 Your laws endure to this day, for all things serve you. RHE 92 (118-92) Unless thy law had been my meditation, I had then perhaps perished in my abjection. NIV 92 If your law had not been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction. RHE 93 (118-93) Thy justifications I will never forget: for by them thou hast given me life. NIV 93 I will never forget your precepts, for by them you have preserved my life. RHE 94 (118-94) I am thine, save thou me: for I have sought thy justifications. NIV 94 Save me, for I am yours; I have sought out your precepts. RHE 95 (118-95) The wicked have waited for me to destroy me: but I have understood thy testimonies. NIV 95 The wicked are waiting to destroy me, but I will ponder your statutes. RHE 96 (118-96) I have seen an end of all perfection: thy commandment is exceeding broad. NIV 96 To all perfection I see a limit; but your commands are boundless. RHE 97 (118-97) O how have I loved thy law, O Lord! it is my meditation all the day. NIV 97 Oh, how I love your law! I meditate on it all day long. RHE 98 (118-98) Through thy commandment, thou hast made me wiser than my enemies: for it is ever with me. NIV 98 Your commands make me wiser than my enemies, for they are ever with me. RHE 99 (118-99) I have understood more than all my teachers: because thy testimonies are my meditation. NIV 99 I have more insight than all my teachers, for I meditate on your statutes. RHE 100 (118-100) I have had understanding above ancients: because I have sought thy commandments. NIV 100 I have more understanding than the elders, for I obey your precepts. RHE 101 (118-101) I have restrained my feet from every evil way: that I may keep thy words. NIV 101 I have kept my feet from every evil path so that I might obey your word. RHE 102 (118-102) I have not declined from thy judgments, because thou hast set me a law. NIV 102 I have not departed from your laws, for you yourself have taught me. RHE 103 (118-103) How sweet are thy words to my palate! more than honey to my mouth. NIV 103 How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth! RHE 104 (118-104) By thy commandments I have had understanding: therefore have I hated every way of iniquity. NIV 104 I gain understanding from your precepts; therefore I hate every wrong path. RHE 105 (118-105) Thy word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my paths. NIV 105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path. RHE 106 (118-106) I have sworn and am determined to keep the judgments of thy justice. NIV 106 I have taken an oath and confirmed it, that I will follow your righteous laws. RHE 107 (118-107) I have been humbled, O Lord, exceedingly: quicken thou me according to thy word. NIV 107 I have suffered much; preserve my life, O LORD, according to your word. RHE 108 (118-108) The free offerings of my mouth make acceptable, O Lord: and teach me thy judgments. NIV 108 Accept, O LORD, the willing praise of my mouth, and teach me your laws. RHE 109 (118-109) My soul is continually in my hands: and I have not forgotten thy law. NIV 109 Though I constantly take my life in my hands, I will not forget your law. RHE 110 (118-110) Sinners have laid a snare for me: but I have not erred from thy precepts. NIV 110 The wicked have set a snare for me, but I have not strayed from your precepts. RHE 111 (118-111) I have purchased thy testimonies for an inheritance for ever: because they are the joy of my heart. NIV 111 Your statutes are my heritage forever; they are the joy of my heart. RHE 112 (118-112) I have inclined my heart to do thy justifications for ever, for the reward. NIV 112 My heart is set on keeping your decrees to the very end. RHE 113 (118-113) I have hated the unjust: and have loved thy law. NIV 113 I hate double-minded men, but I love your law. RHE 114 (118-114) Thou art my helper and my protector: and in thy word I have greatly hoped. NIV 114 You are my refuge and my shield; I have put my hope in your word. RHE 115 (118-115) Depart from me, ye malignant: and I will search the commandments of my God. NIV 115 Away from me, you evildoers, that I may keep the commands of my God! RHE 116 (118-116) Uphold me according to thy word, and I shall live: and let me not be confounded in my expectation. NIV 116 Sustain me according to your promise, and I will live; do not let my hopes be dashed. RHE 117 (118-117) Help me, and I shall be saved: and I will meditate always on thy justifications. NIV 117 Uphold me, and I will be delivered; I will always have regard for your decrees. RHE 118 (118-118) Thou hast despised all them that fall off from thy judgments; for their thought is unjust. NIV 118 You reject all who stray from your decrees, for their deceitfulness is in vain. RHE 119 (118-119) I have accounted all the sinners of the earth prevaricators: therefore have I loved thy testimonies. NIV 119 All the wicked of the earth you discard like dross; therefore I love your statutes. RHE 120 (118-120) Pierce thou my flesh with thy fear: for I am afraid of thy judgments. NIV 120 My flesh trembles in fear of you; I stand in awe of your laws. RHE 121 (118-121) I have done judgment and justice: give me not up to them that slander me. NIV 121 I have done what is righteous and just; do not leave me to my oppressors. RHE 122 (118-122) Uphold thy servant unto good: let not the proud calumniate me. NIV 122 Ensure your servant's well-being; let not the arrogant oppress me. RHE 123 (118-123) My eyes have fainted after thy salvation: and for the word of thy justice. NIV 123 My eyes fail, looking for your salvation, looking for your righteous promise. RHE 124 (118-124) Deal with thy servant according to thy mercy: and teach me thy justifications. NIV 124 Deal with your servant according to your love and teach me your decrees. RHE 125 (118-125) I am thy servant: give me understanding that I may know thy testimonies. NIV 125 I am your servant; give me discernment that I may understand your statutes. RHE 126 (118-126) It is time, O Lord, to do: they have dissipated thy law. NIV 126 It is time for you to act, O LORD; your law is being broken. RHE 127 (118-127) Therefore have I loved thy commandments above gold and the topaz. NIV 127 Because I love your commands more than gold, more than pure gold, RHE 128 (118-128) Therefore was I directed to all thy commandments: I have hated all wicked ways. NIV 128 and because I consider all your precepts right, I hate every wrong path. RHE 129 (118-129) Thy testimonies are wonderful: therefore my soul hath sought them. NIV 129 Your statutes are wonderful; therefore I obey them. RHE 130 (118-130) The declaration of thy words giveth light: and giveth understanding to little ones. NIV 130 The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple. RHE 131 (118-131) I opened my mouth, and panted: because I longed for thy commandments. NIV 131 I open my mouth and pant, longing for your commands. RHE 132 (118-132) Look thou upon me, and have mercy on me according to the judgment of them that love thy name. NIV 132 Turn to me and have mercy on me, as you always do to those who love your name. RHE 133 (118-133) Direct my steps according to thy word: and let no iniquity have dominion over me. NIV 133 Direct my footsteps according to your word; let no sin rule over me. RHE 134 (118-134) Redeem me from the calumnies of men: that I may keep thy commandments. NIV 134 Redeem me from the oppression of men, that I may obey your precepts. RHE 135 (118-135) Make thy face to shine upon thy servant: and teach me thy justifications. NIV 135 Make your face shine upon your servant and teach me your decrees. RHE 136 (118-136) My eyes have sent forth springs of water: because they have not kept thy law. NIV 136 Streams of tears flow from my eyes, for your law is not obeyed. RHE 137 (118-137) Thou art just, O Lord: and thy judgment is right. NIV 137 Righteous are you, O LORD, and your laws are right. RHE 138 (118-138) Thou hast commanded justice thy testimonies: and thy truth exceedingly. NIV 138 The statutes you have laid down are righteous; they are fully trustworthy. RHE 139 (118-139) My zeal hath made me pine away: because my enemies forgot thy words. NIV 139 My zeal wears me out, for my enemies ignore your words. RHE 140 (118-140) Thy word is exceedingly refined: and thy servant hath loved it. NIV 140 Your promises have been thoroughly tested, and your servant loves them. RHE 141 (118-141) I am very young and despised; but I forget not thy justifications. NIV 141 Though I am lowly and despised, I do not forget your precepts. RHE 142 (118-142) Thy justice is justice for ever: and thy law is the truth. NIV 142 Your righteousness is everlasting and your law is true. RHE 143 (118-143) Trouble and anguish have found me: thy commandments are my meditation. NIV 143 Trouble and distress have come upon me, but your commands are my delight. RHE 144 (118-144) Thy testimonies are justice for ever: give me understanding, and I shall live. NIV 144 Your statutes are forever right; give me understanding that I may live. RHE 145 (118-145) I cried with my whole heart, hear me, O Lord: I will seek thy justifications. NIV 145 I call with all my heart; answer me, O LORD, and I will obey your decrees. RHE 146 (118-146) I cried unto thee, save me: that I may keep thy commandments. NIV 146 I call out to you; save me and I will keep your statutes. RHE 147 (118-147) I prevented the dawning of the day, and cried: because in thy words I very much hoped. NIV 147 I rise before dawn and cry for help; I have put my hope in your word. RHE 148 (118-148) My eyes to thee have prevented the morning: that I might meditate on thy words. NIV 148 My eyes stay open through the watches of the night, that I may meditate on your promises. RHE 149 (118-149) Hear thou my voice, O Lord, according to thy mercy: and quicken me according to thy judgment. NIV 149 Hear my voice in accordance with your love; preserve my life, O LORD, according to your laws. RHE 150 (118-150) They that persecute me have drawn nigh to iniquity; but they are gone far off from thy law. NIV 150 Those who devise wicked schemes are near, but they are far from your law. RHE 151 (118-151) Thou art near, O Lord: and all thy ways are truth. NIV 151 Yet you are near, O LORD, and all your commands are true. RHE 152 (118-152) I have known from the beginning concerning thy testimonies: that thou hast founded them for ever. NIV 152 Long ago I learned from your statutes that you established them to last forever. RHE 153 (118-153) See my humiliation and deliver me for I have not forgotten thy law. NIV 153 Look upon my suffering and deliver me, for I have not forgotten your law. RHE 154 (118-154) Judge my judgment and redeem me: quicken thou me for thy word’s sake.
