Psalm 120

GW 1 When I was in trouble, I cried out to the LORD, and he answered me. NIV 1 I call on the LORD in my distress, and he answers me. GW 2 O LORD, rescue me from lying lips and from a deceitful tongue. NIV 2 Save me, O LORD, from lying lips and from deceitful tongues. GW 3 You deceitful tongue, what can the LORD give you? What more can he do for you? NIV 3 What will he do to you, and what more besides, O deceitful tongue? GW 4 He will give you a warrior's sharpened arrows and red-hot coals. NIV 4 He will punish you with a warrior's sharp arrows, with burning coals of the broom tree. GW 5 How horrible it is to live as a foreigner in Meshech or to stay in the tents of Kedar. NIV 5 Woe to me that I dwell in Meshech, that I live among the tents of Kedar! GW 6 I have lived too long with those who hate peace. NIV 6 Too long have I lived among those who hate peace. GW 7 I am for peace, but when I talk about it, they only talk about war. NIV 7 I am a man of peace; but when I speak, they are for war.
