NRS 1 In my distress I cry to the Lord, that he may answer me: NIV 1 I call on the LORD in my distress, and he answers me. NRS 2 "Deliver me, O Lord, from lying lips, from a deceitful tongue." NIV 2 Save me, O LORD, from lying lips and from deceitful tongues. NRS 3 What shall be given to you? And what more shall be done to you, you deceitful tongue? NIV 3 What will he do to you, and what more besides, O deceitful tongue? NRS 4 A warrior's sharp arrows, with glowing coals of the broom tree! NIV 4 He will punish you with a warrior's sharp arrows, with burning coals of the broom tree. NRS 5 Woe is me, that I am an alien in Meshech, that I must live among the tents of Kedar. NIV 5 Woe to me that I dwell in Meshech, that I live among the tents of Kedar! NRS 6 Too long have I had my dwelling among those who hate peace. NIV 6 Too long have I lived among those who hate peace. NRS 7 I am for peace; but when I speak, they are for war. NIV 7 I am a man of peace; but when I speak, they are for war.
