Psalm 122

RHE 1 (121-1) <A gradual canticle.> NIV 1 I rejoiced with those who said to me, "Let us go to the house of the LORD." RHE 2 (121-1) (121-2) Our feet were standing in thy courts, O Jerusalem. NIV 2 Our feet are standing in your gates, O Jerusalem. RHE 3 (121-3) Jerusalem, which is built as a city, which is compact together. NIV 3 Jerusalem is built like a city that is closely compacted together. RHE 4 (121-4) For thither did the tribes go up, the tribes of the Lord: the testimony of Israel, to praise the name of the Lord. NIV 4 That is where the tribes go up, the tribes of the LORD, to praise the name of the LORD according to the statute given to Israel. RHE 5 (121-5) Because their seats have sat in judgment, seats upon the house of David. NIV 5 There the thrones for judgment stand, the thrones of the house of David. RHE 6 (121-6) Pray ye for the things that are for the peace of Jerusalem: and abundance for them that love thee. NIV 6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: "May those who love you be secure. RHE 7 (121-7) Let peace be in thy strength: and abundance in thy towers. NIV 7 May there be peace within your walls and security within your citadels." RHE 8 (121-8) For the sake of my brethren, and of my neighbours, I spoke peace of thee. NIV 8 For the sake of my brothers and friends, I will say, "Peace be within you." RHE 9 (121-9) Because of the house of the Lord our God, I have sought good things for thee. NIV 9 For the sake of the house of the LORD our God, I will seek your prosperity.
