GW 1 Hallelujah! Praise the name of the LORD. Praise him, you servants of the LORD NIV 1 Praise the LORD. Praise the name of the LORD; praise him, you servants of the LORD, GW 2 who are standing in the house of the LORD, in the courtyards of the house of our God. NIV 2 you who minister in the house of the LORD, in the courts of the house of our God. GW 3 Praise the LORD because he is good. Make music to praise his name because his name is beautiful. NIV 3 Praise the LORD, for the LORD is good; sing praise to his name, for that is pleasant. GW 4 The LORD chose Jacob to be his own and chose Israel to be his own special treasure. NIV 4 For the LORD has chosen Jacob to be his own, Israel to be his treasured possession. GW 5 I know that the LORD is great, that our Lord is greater than all the false gods. NIV 5 I know that the LORD is great, that our Lord is greater than all gods. GW 6 The LORD does whatever he wants in heaven or on earth, on the seas or in all the depths of the oceans. NIV 6 The LORD does whatever pleases him, in the heavens and on the earth, in the seas and all their depths. GW 7 He is the one who makes the clouds rise from the ends of the earth, who makes lightning for the thunderstorms, and who brings wind out of his storerooms. NIV 7 He makes clouds rise from the ends of the earth; he sends lightning with the rain and brings out the wind from his storehouses. GW 8 He is the one who killed every firstborn male in Egypt. He killed humans and animals alike. NIV 8 He struck down the firstborn of Egypt, the firstborn of men and animals. GW 9 He sent miraculous signs and amazing things into the heart of Egypt against Pharaoh and all his officials. NIV 9 He sent his signs and wonders into your midst, O Egypt, against Pharaoh and all his servants. GW 10 He is the one who defeated many nations and killed mighty kings: NIV 10 He struck down many nations and killed mighty kings-- GW 11 King Sihon of the Amorites, King Og of Bashan, and all the kingdoms in Canaan. NIV 11 Sihon king of the Amorites, Og king of Bashan and all the kings of Canaan-- GW 12 He gave their land as an inheritance, an inheritance to his people Israel. NIV 15 The idols of the nations are silver and gold, made by the hands of men. GW 16 They have mouths, but they cannot speak. They have eyes, but they cannot see. NIV 16 They have mouths, but cannot speak, eyes, but they cannot see; GW 17 They have ears, but they cannot hear. They cannot breathe. NIV 17 they have ears, but cannot hear, nor is there breath in their mouths. GW 18 Those who make idols end up like them. So does everyone who trusts them. NIV 18 Those who make them will be like them, and so will all who trust in them. GW 19 Descendants of Israel, praise the LORD. Descendants of Aaron, praise the LORD. NIV 19 O house of Israel, praise the LORD; O house of Aaron, praise the LORD; GW 20 Descendants of Levi, praise the LORD. You people who fear the LORD, praise the LORD. NIV 20 O house of Levi, praise the LORD; you who fear him, praise the LORD. GW 21 Thank the LORD in Zion. Thank the one who lives in Jerusalem. Hallelujah! NIV 21 Praise be to the LORD from Zion, to him who dwells in Jerusalem. Praise the LORD.
