Psalm 135

RHE 1 (134-1) Alleluia. Praise ye the name of the Lord: O you his servants, praise the Lord: NIV 1 Praise the LORD. Praise the name of the LORD; praise him, you servants of the LORD, RHE 2 (134-2) You that stand in the house of the Lord, in the courts of the house of our God. NIV 2 you who minister in the house of the LORD, in the courts of the house of our God. RHE 3 (134-3) Praise ye the Lord, for the Lord is good: sing ye to his name, for it is sweet. NIV 3 Praise the LORD, for the LORD is good; sing praise to his name, for that is pleasant. RHE 4 (134-4) For the Lord hath chosen Jacob unto himself: Israel for his own possession. NIV 4 For the LORD has chosen Jacob to be his own, Israel to be his treasured possession. RHE 5 (134-5) For I have known that the Lord is great, and our God is above all gods. NIV 5 I know that the LORD is great, that our Lord is greater than all gods. RHE 6 (134-6) Whatsoever the Lord pleased he hath done, in heaven, in earth, in the sea, and in all the deeps. NIV 6 The LORD does whatever pleases him, in the heavens and on the earth, in the seas and all their depths. RHE 7 (134-7) He bringeth up clouds from the end of the earth: he hath made lightnings for the rain. He bringeth forth winds out of his stores: NIV 7 He makes clouds rise from the ends of the earth; he sends lightning with the rain and brings out the wind from his storehouses. RHE 8 (134-8) He slew the firstborn of Egypt from man even unto beast. NIV 8 He struck down the firstborn of Egypt, the firstborn of men and animals. RHE 9 (134-9) He sent forth signs and wonders in the midst of thee, O Egypt: upon Pharao, and upon all his servants. NIV 9 He sent his signs and wonders into your midst, O Egypt, against Pharaoh and all his servants. RHE 10 (134-10) He smote many nations, and slew mighty kings: NIV 10 He struck down many nations and killed mighty kings-- RHE 11 (134-11) Sehon king of the Amorrhites, and Og king of Basan, and all the kingdoms of Chanaan. NIV 11 Sihon king of the Amorites, Og king of Bashan and all the kings of Canaan-- RHE 12 (134-12) And gave their land for an inheritance, for an inheritance to his people Israel. NIV 12 and he gave their land as an inheritance, an inheritance to his people Israel. RHE 13 (134-13) Thy name, O Lord, is for ever: thy memorial, O Lord, unto all generations. NIV 13 Your name, O LORD, endures forever, your renown, O LORD, through all generations. RHE 14 (134-14) For the Lord will judge his people, and will be entreated in favour of his servants. NIV 14 For the LORD will vindicate his people and have compassion on his servants. RHE 15 (134-15) The idols of the Gentiles are silver and gold, the works of men’s hands. NIV 15 The idols of the nations are silver and gold, made by the hands of men. RHE 16 (134-16) They have a mouth, but they speak not: they have eyes, but they see not. NIV 16 They have mouths, but cannot speak, eyes, but they cannot see; RHE 17 (134-17) They have ears, but they hear not: neither is there any breath in their mouths. NIV 17 they have ears, but cannot hear, nor is there breath in their mouths. RHE 18 (134-18) Let them that make them be like to them: and every one that trusteth in them. NIV 18 Those who make them will be like them, and so will all who trust in them. RHE 19 (134-19) Bless the Lord, O house of Israel: bless the Lord, O house of Aaron. NIV 19 O house of Israel, praise the LORD; O house of Aaron, praise the LORD; RHE 20 (134-20) Bless the Lord, O house of Levi: you that fear the Lord, bless the Lord. NIV 20 O house of Levi, praise the LORD; you who fear him, praise the LORD. RHE 21 (134-21) Blessed be the Lord out of Sion, who dwelleth in Jerusalem. NIV 21 Praise be to the LORD from Zion, to him who dwells in Jerusalem. Praise the LORD.
