Psalm 138

GNT 1 I thank you, Lord, with all my heart; I sing praise to you before the gods. NIV 1 I will praise you, O LORD, with all my heart; before the "gods" I will sing your praise. GNT 2 I face your holy Temple, bow down, and praise your name because of your constant love and faithfulness, because you have shown that your name and your commands are supreme. NIV 2 I will bow down toward your holy temple and will praise your name for your love and your faithfulness, for you have exalted above all things your name and your word. GNT 3 You answered me when I called to you; with your strength you strengthened me. NIV 3 When I called, you answered me; you made me bold and stouthearted. GNT 4 All the kings in the world will praise you, Lord, because they have heard your promises. NIV 4 May all the kings of the earth praise you, O LORD, when they hear the words of your mouth. GNT 5 They will sing about what you have done and about your great glory. NIV 5 May they sing of the ways of the LORD, for the glory of the LORD is great. GNT 6 Even though you are so high above, you care for the lowly, and the proud cannot hide from you. NIV 6 Though the LORD is on high, he looks upon the lowly, but the proud he knows from afar. GNT 7 When I am surrounded by troubles, you keep me safe. You oppose my angry enemies and save me by your power. NIV 7 Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life; you stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes, with your right hand you save me. GNT 8 You will do everything you have promised; Lord, your love is eternal. Complete the work that you have begun. NIV 8 The LORD will fulfill [his purpose] for me; your love, O LORD, endures forever-- do not abandon the works of your hands.
