Psalm 138

HNV 1 <<By David.>> I will give you thanks with my whole heart. Before the gods, I will sing praises to you. NIV 1 I will praise you, O LORD, with all my heart; before the "gods" I will sing your praise. HNV 2 I will bow down toward your holy temple, And give thanks to your Name for your lovingkindness and for your truth; For you have exalted your Name and your Word above all. NIV 2 I will bow down toward your holy temple and will praise your name for your love and your faithfulness, for you have exalted above all things your name and your word. HNV 3 In the day that I called, you answered me. You encouraged me with strength in my soul. NIV 3 When I called, you answered me; you made me bold and stouthearted. HNV 4 All the kings of the eretz will give you thanks, LORD, For they have heard the words of your mouth. NIV 4 May all the kings of the earth praise you, O LORD, when they hear the words of your mouth. HNV 5 Yes, they will sing of the ways of the LORD; For great is the LORD's glory. NIV 5 May they sing of the ways of the LORD, for the glory of the LORD is great. HNV 6 For though the LORD is high, yet he looks after the lowly; But the proud, he knows from afar. NIV 6 Though the LORD is on high, he looks upon the lowly, but the proud he knows from afar. HNV 7 Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you will revive me. You will stretch forth your hand against the wrath of my enemies. Your right hand will save me. NIV 7 Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life; you stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes, with your right hand you save me. HNV 8 The LORD will fulfill that which concerns me; Your lovingkindness, LORD, endures forever. Don't forsake the works of your own hands. NIV 8 The LORD will fulfill [his purpose] for me; your love, O LORD, endures forever-- do not abandon the works of your hands.
