Psalm 146

YLT 1 Praise ye Jah! Praise, O my soul, Jehovah. NIV 1 Praise the LORD. Praise the LORD, O my soul. YLT 2 I praise Jehovah during my life, I sing praise to my God while I exist. NIV 2 I will praise the LORD all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live. YLT 3 Trust not in princes -- in a son of man, For he hath no deliverance. NIV 3 Do not put your trust in princes, in mortal men, who cannot save. YLT 4 His spirit goeth forth, he returneth to his earth, In that day have his thoughts perished. NIV 4 When their spirit departs, they return to the ground; on that very day their plans come to nothing. YLT 5 O the happiness of him Who hath the God of Jacob for his help, His hope [is] on Jehovah his God, NIV 5 Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD his God, YLT 6 Making the heavens and earth, The sea and all that [is] in them, Who is keeping truth to the age, NIV 6 the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them-- the LORD, who remains faithful forever. YLT 7 Doing judgment for the oppressed, Giving bread to the hungry. NIV 7 He upholds the cause of the oppressed and gives food to the hungry. The LORD sets prisoners free, YLT 8 Jehovah is loosing the prisoners, Jehovah is opening (the eyes of) the blind, Jehovah is raising the bowed down, Jehovah is loving the righteous, NIV 8 the LORD gives sight to the blind, the LORD lifts up those who are bowed down, the LORD loves the righteous. YLT 9 Jehovah is preserving the strangers, The fatherless and widow He causeth to stand, And the way of the wicked He turneth upside down. NIV 9 The LORD watches over the alien and sustains the fatherless and the widow, but he frustrates the ways of the wicked. YLT 10 Jehovah doth reign to the age, Thy God, O Zion, to generation and generation, Praise ye Jah! NIV 10 The LORD reigns forever, your God, O Zion, for all generations. Praise the LORD.
