Psalm 149

ASV 1 Praise ye Jehovah. Sing unto Jehovah a new song, And his praise in the assembly of the saints. NIV 1 Praise the LORD. Sing to the LORD a new song, his praise in the assembly of the saints. ASV 2 Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: Let the children of Zion be joyful in their King. NIV 2 Let Israel rejoice in their Maker; let the people of Zion be glad in their King. ASV 3 Let them praise his name in the dance: Let them sing praises unto him with timbrel and harp. NIV 3 Let them praise his name with dancing and make music to him with tambourine and harp. ASV 4 For Jehovah taketh pleasure in his people: He will beautify the meek with salvation. NIV 4 For the LORD takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with salvation. ASV 5 Let the saints exult in glory: Let them sing for joy upon their beds. NIV 5 Let the saints rejoice in this honor and sing for joy on their beds. ASV 6 [Let] the high praises of God [be] in their mouth, And a two-edged sword in their hand; NIV 6 May the praise of God be in their mouths and a double-edged sword in their hands, ASV 7 To execute vengeance upon the nations, And punishments upon the peoples; NIV 7 to inflict vengeance on the nations and punishment on the peoples, ASV 8 To bind their kings with chains, And their nobles with fetters of iron; NIV 8 to bind their kings with fetters, their nobles with shackles of iron, ASV 9 To execute upon them the judgment written: This honor have all his saints. Praise ye Jehovah. NIV 9 to carry out the sentence written against them. This is the glory of all his saints. Praise the LORD.
