Psalm 14:1-6

NRS 1 Fools say in their hearts, "There is no God." They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds; there is no one who does good. NIV 1 The fool says in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good. NRS 2 The Lord looks down from heaven on humankind to see if there are any who are wise, who seek after God. NIV 2 The LORD looks down from heaven on the sons of men to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God. NIV 3 All have turned aside, they have together become corrupt; there is no one who does good, not even one. NRS 4 Have they no knowledge, all the evildoers who eat up my people as they eat bread, and do not call upon the Lord? NIV 4 Will evildoers never learn-- those who devour my people as men eat bread and who do not call on the LORD? NRS 5 There they shall be in great terror, for God is with the company of the righteous. NIV 5 There they are, overwhelmed with dread, for God is present in the company of the righteous. NRS 6 You would confound the plans of the poor, but the Lord is their refuge. NIV 6 You evildoers frustrate the plans of the poor, but the LORD is their refuge.
