NIV 2 May my vindication come from you; may your eyes see what is right. WBT 3 Thou hast proved my heart; thou hast visited [me] in the night; thou hast tried me, [and] shalt find nothing; I have purposed [that] my mouth shall not transgress. NIV 3 Though you probe my heart and examine me at night, though you test me, you will find nothing; I have resolved that my mouth will not sin. WBT 4 Concerning the works of men, by the word of thy lips I have kept [me from] the paths of the destroyer. NIV 4 As for the deeds of men-- by the word of your lips I have kept myself from the ways of the violent. WBT 5 Uphold my goings in thy paths, [that] my footsteps slip not. NIV 5 My steps have held to your paths; my feet have not slipped. WBT 6 I have called upon thee, for thou wilt hear me, O God: incline thy ear to me, [and hear] my speech. NIV 6 I call on you, O God, for you will answer me; give ear to me and hear my prayer. WBT 14 From men [who are] thy hand, O LORD, from men of the world, [who have] their portion in [this] life, and whose belly thou fillest with thy hid [treasure]: they are full of children, and leave the rest of their [substance] to their babes. NIV 14 O LORD, by your hand save me from such men, from men of this world whose reward is in this life.
