Psalm 19

NLT 1 The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship. NIV 1 The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. NLT 2 Day after day they continue to speak; night after night they make him known. NIV 2 Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. NLT 3 They speak without a sound or word; their voice is never heard. NIV 3 There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. NLT 4 Yet their message has gone throughout the earth, and their words to all the world. God has made a home in the heavens for the sun. NIV 4 Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens he has pitched a tent for the sun, NLT 5 It bursts forth like a radiant bridegroom after his wedding. It rejoices like a great athlete eager to run the race. NIV 8 The precepts of the LORD are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the LORD are radiant, giving light to the eyes. NLT 9 Reverence for the is pure, lasting forever. The laws of the are true; each one is fair. NIV 9 The fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever. The ordinances of the LORD are sure and altogether righteous. NLT 10 They are more desirable than gold, even the finest gold. They are sweeter than honey, even honey dripping from the comb. NIV 10 They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the comb. NLT 11 They are a warning to your servant, a great reward for those who obey them. NIV 11 By them is your servant warned; in keeping them there is great reward. NLT 12 How can I know all the sins lurking in my heart? Cleanse me from these hidden faults. NIV 12 Who can discern his errors? Forgive my hidden faults. NLT 13 Keep your servant from deliberate sins! Don’t let them control me. Then I will be free of guilt and innocent of great sin. NIV 13 Keep your servant also from willful sins; may they not rule over me. Then will I be blameless, innocent of great transgression.
