Psalm 2:1-6

GNT 1 Why do the nations plan rebellion? Why do people make their useless plots? NIV 1 Why do the nations conspire and the peoples plot in vain? GNT 2 Their kings revolt, their rulers plot together against the Lord and against the king he chose. NIV 2 The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers gather together against the LORD and against his Anointed One. GNT 3 "Let us free ourselves from their rule," they say; "let us throw off their control." NIV 3 "Let us break their chains," they say, "and throw off their fetters." GNT 4 From his throne in heaven the Lord laughs and mocks their feeble plans. NIV 4 The One enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord scoffs at them. GNT 5 Then he warns them in anger and terrifies them with his fury. NIV 5 Then he rebukes them in his anger and terrifies them in his wrath, saying, GNT 6 "On Zion, my sacred hill," he says, "I have installed my king." NIV 6 "I have installed my King on Zion, my holy hill."
