Psalm 30

TMB 1 <<A Psalm and song at the dedication of the Temple of David.>> I will extol Thee, O LORD, for Thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me. NIV 1 I will exalt you, O LORD, for you lifted me out of the depths and did not let my enemies gloat over me. TMB 2 O LORD my God, I cried unto Thee, and Thou hast healed me. NIV 2 O LORD my God, I called to you for help and you healed me. TMB 3 O LORD, Thou hast brought up my soul from the grave; Thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit. NIV 3 O LORD, you brought me up from the grave; you spared me from going down into the pit. TMB 4 Sing unto the LORD, O ye His saints, and give thanks at the remembrance of His holiness. NIV 4 Sing to the LORD, you saints of his; praise his holy name. TMB 5 For His anger endureth but a moment, and in His favor is life; weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. NIV 5 For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning. TMB 6 And in my prosperity I said, "I shall never be moved." NIV 6 When I felt secure, I said, "I will never be shaken." TMB 7 LORD, by Thy favor Thou hast made my mountain to stand strong; when Thou didst hide Thy face, I was troubled. NIV 7 O LORD, when you favored me, you made my mountain stand firm; but when you hid your face, I was dismayed. TMB 8 I cried to Thee, O LORD; and unto the LORD I made supplication: NIV 8 To you, O LORD, I called; to the Lord I cried for mercy: TMB 9 "What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit? Shall the dust praise Thee? Shall it declare Thy truth? NIV 9 "What gain is there in my destruction, in my going down into the pit? Will the dust praise you? Will it proclaim your faithfulness? TMB 10 Hear, O LORD, and have mercy upon me; LORD, be Thou my helper!" NIV 10 Hear, O LORD, and be merciful to me; O LORD, be my help." TMB 11 Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing; Thou hast put off my sackcloth and girded me with gladness, NIV 11 You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, TMB 12 to the end that my glory may sing praise to Thee and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks unto Thee for ever. NIV 12 that my heart may sing to you and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give you thanks forever.
