Psalm 34

GNT 1 I will always thank the Lord; I will never stop praising him. NIV 1 I will extol the LORD at all times; his praise will always be on my lips. GNT 2 I will praise him for what he has done; may all who are oppressed listen and be glad! NIV 2 My soul will boast in the LORD; let the afflicted hear and rejoice. GNT 3 Proclaim with me the Lord's greatness; let us praise his name together! NIV 3 Glorify the LORD with me; let us exalt his name together. GNT 4 I prayed to the Lord, and he answered me; he freed me from all my fears. NIV 4 I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. GNT 5 The oppressed look to him and are glad; they will never be disappointed. NIV 5 Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame. GNT 6 The helpless call to him, and he answers; he saves them from all their troubles. NIV 6 This poor man called, and the LORD heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles. GNT 7 His angel guards those who honor the Lord and rescues them from danger. NIV 7 The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them. GNT 8 Find out for yourself how good the Lord is. Happy are those who find safety with him. NIV 8 Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him. GNT 9 Honor the Lord, all his people; those who obey him have all they need. NIV 9 Fear the LORD, you his saints, for those who fear him lack nothing. GNT 10 Even lions go hungry for lack of food, but those who obey the Lord lack nothing good. NIV 10 The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing. GNT 11 Come, my young friends, and listen to me, and I will teach you to honor the Lord. NIV 11 Come, my children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD. GNT 12 Would you like to enjoy life? Do you want long life and happiness? NIV 12 Whoever of you loves life and desires to see many good days, GNT 13 Then keep from speaking evil and from telling lies. NIV 13 keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking lies. GNT 14 Turn away from evil and do good; strive for peace with all your heart. NIV 14 Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it. GNT 15 The Lord watches over the righteous and listens to their cries; NIV 15 The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their cry; GNT 16 but he opposes those who do evil, so that when they die, they are soon forgotten. NIV 16 the face of the LORD is against those who do evil, to cut off the memory of them from the earth. GNT 17 The righteous call to the Lord, and he listens; he rescues them from all their troubles. NIV 17 The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. GNT 18 The Lord is near to those who are discouraged; he saves those who have lost all hope. NIV 18 The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. GNT 19 Good people suffer many troubles, but the Lord saves them from them all; NIV 19 A righteous man may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all; GNT 20 the Lord preserves them completely; not one of their bones is broken. NIV 20 he protects all his bones, not one of them will be broken. GNT 21 Evil will kill the wicked; those who hate the righteous will be punished. NIV 21 Evil will slay the wicked; the foes of the righteous will be condemned. GNT 22 The Lord will save his people; those who go to him for protection will be spared. NIV 22 The LORD redeems his servants; no one will be condemned who takes refuge in him.
