Psalm 34

YLT 1 By David, in his changing his behaviour before Abimelech, and he driveth him away, and he goeth. I do bless Jehovah at all times, Continually His praise [is] in my mouth. NIV 1 I will extol the LORD at all times; his praise will always be on my lips. YLT 2 In Jehovah doth my soul boast herself, Hear do the humble and rejoice. NIV 2 My soul will boast in the LORD; let the afflicted hear and rejoice. YLT 3 Ascribe ye greatness to Jehovah with me, And we exalt His name together. NIV 3 Glorify the LORD with me; let us exalt his name together. YLT 4 I sought Jehovah, and He answered me, And from all my fears did deliver me. NIV 4 I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. YLT 5 They looked expectingly unto Him, And they became bright, And their faces are not ashamed. NIV 5 Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame. YLT 6 This poor [one] called, and Jehovah heard, And from all his distresses saved him. NIV 6 This poor man called, and the LORD heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles. YLT 7 A messenger of Jehovah is encamping, Round about those who fear Him, And He armeth them. NIV 7 The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them. YLT 8 Taste ye and see that Jehovah [is] good, O the happiness of the man who trusteth in Him. NIV 8 Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him. YLT 9 Fear Jehovah, ye His holy ones, For there is no lack to those fearing Him. NIV 9 Fear the LORD, you his saints, for those who fear him lack nothing. YLT 10 Young lions have lacked and been hungry, And those seeking Jehovah lack not any good, NIV 10 The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing. YLT 11 Come ye, children, hearken to me, The fear of Jehovah I do teach you. NIV 11 Come, my children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD. YLT 12 Who [is] the man that is desiring life? Loving days to see good? NIV 12 Whoever of you loves life and desires to see many good days, YLT 13 Keep thy tongue from evil, And thy lips from speaking deceit. NIV 13 keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking lies. YLT 14 Turn aside from evil and do good, Seek peace and pursue it. NIV 14 Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it. YLT 15 The eyes of Jehovah [are] unto the righteous, And His ears unto their cry. NIV 15 The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their cry; YLT 16 (The face of Jehovah [is] on doers of evil, To cut off from earth their memorial.) NIV 16 the face of the LORD is against those who do evil, to cut off the memory of them from the earth. YLT 17 They cried, and Jehovah heard, And from all their distresses delivered them. NIV 17 The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. YLT 18 Near [is] Jehovah to the broken of heart, And the bruised of spirit He saveth. NIV 18 The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. YLT 19 Many [are] the evils of the righteous, Out of them all doth Jehovah deliver him. NIV 19 A righteous man may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all; YLT 20 He is keeping all his bones, One of them hath not been broken. NIV 20 he protects all his bones, not one of them will be broken. YLT 21 Evil doth put to death the wicked, And those hating the righteous are desolate. NIV 21 Evil will slay the wicked; the foes of the righteous will be condemned. YLT 22 Jehovah redeemeth the soul of His servants, And none trusting in Him are desolate! NIV 22 The LORD redeems his servants; no one will be condemned who takes refuge in him.
