Psalm 6

CSB 1 Lord, do not rebuke me in Your anger; do not discipline me in Your wrath. NIV 1 O LORD, do not rebuke me in your anger or discipline me in your wrath. CSB 2 Be gracious to me, Lord, for I am weak; heal me, Lord, for my bones are shaking; NIV 2 Be merciful to me, LORD, for I am faint; O LORD, heal me, for my bones are in agony. CSB 3 my whole being is shaken with terror. And You, Lord-how long? NIV 3 My soul is in anguish. How long, O LORD, how long? CSB 4 Turn, Lord! Rescue me; save me because of Your faithful love. NIV 4 Turn, O LORD, and deliver me; save me because of your unfailing love. CSB 5 For there is no remembrance of You in death; who can thank You in Sheol? NIV 5 No one remembers you when he is dead. Who praises you from the grave ? CSB 6 I am weary from my groaning; with my tears I dampen my pillow and drench my bed every night. NIV 6 I am worn out from groaning; all night long I flood my bed with weeping and drench my couch with tears. CSB 7 My eyes are swollen from grief; they grow old because of all my enemies. NIV 7 My eyes grow weak with sorrow; they fail because of all my foes. CSB 8 Depart from me, all evildoers, for the Lord has heard the sound of my weeping. NIV 8 Away from me, all you who do evil, for the LORD has heard my weeping. CSB 9 The Lord has heard my plea for help; the Lord accepts my prayer. NIV 9 The LORD has heard my cry for mercy; the LORD accepts my prayer. CSB 10 All my enemies will be ashamed and shake with terror; they will turn back and suddenly be disgraced. NIV 10 All my enemies will be ashamed and dismayed; they will turn back in sudden disgrace.
