Psalm 77

NRS 1 I cry aloud to God, aloud to God, that he may hear me. NIV 1 I cried out to God for help; I cried out to God to hear me. NRS 2 In the day of my trouble I seek the Lord; in the night my hand is stretched out without wearying; my soul refuses to be comforted. NIV 2 When I was in distress, I sought the Lord; at night I stretched out untiring hands and my soul refused to be comforted. NRS 3 I think of God, and I moan; I meditate, and my spirit faints. (Selah) NIV 3 I remembered you, O God, and I groaned; I mused, and my spirit grew faint. "Selah" NRS 4 You keep my eyelids from closing; I am so troubled that I cannot speak. NIV 4 You kept my eyes from closing; I was too troubled to speak. NRS 5 I consider the days of old, and remember the years of long ago. NIV 5 I thought about the former days, the years of long ago; NRS 6 I commune with my heart in the night; I meditate and search my spirit: NIV 6 I remembered my songs in the night. My heart mused and my spirit inquired: NRS 7 "Will the Lord spurn forever, and never again be favorable? NIV 7 "Will the Lord reject forever? Will he never show his favor again? NRS 8 Has his steadfast love ceased forever? Are his promises at an end for all time? NIV 8 Has his unfailing love vanished forever? Has his promise failed for all time? NRS 9 Has God forgotten to be gracious? Has he in anger shut up his compassion?" (Selah) NIV 9 Has God forgotten to be merciful? Has he in anger withheld his compassion?" "Selah" NRS 10 And I say, "It is my grief that the right hand of the Most High has changed." NIV 10 Then I thought, "To this I will appeal: the years of the right hand of the Most High." NRS 11 I will call to mind the deeds of the Lord; I will remember your wonders of old. NIV 11 I will remember the deeds of the LORD; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago. NRS 12 I will meditate on all your work, and muse on your mighty deeds. NIV 12 I will meditate on all your works and consider all your mighty deeds. NRS 13 Your way, O God, is holy. What god is so great as our God? NIV 13 Your ways, O God, are holy. What god is so great as our God? NRS 14 You are the God who works wonders; you have displayed your might among the peoples. NIV 14 You are the God who performs miracles; you display your power among the peoples. NRS 15 With your strong arm you redeemed your people, the descendants of Jacob and Joseph. (Selah) NIV 15 With your mighty arm you redeemed your people, the descendants of Jacob and Joseph. "Selah" NRS 16 When the waters saw you, O God, when the waters saw you, they were afraid; the very deep trembled. NIV 16 The waters saw you, O God, the waters saw you and writhed; the very depths were convulsed. NRS 17 The clouds poured out water; the skies thundered; your arrows flashed on every side. NIV 17 The clouds poured down water, the skies resounded with thunder; your arrows flashed back and forth. NRS 18 The crash of your thunder was in the whirlwind; your lightnings lit up the world; the earth trembled and shook. NIV 18 Your thunder was heard in the whirlwind, your lightning lit up the world; the earth trembled and quaked. NRS 19 Your way was through the sea, your path, through the mighty waters; yet your footprints were unseen. NIV 19 Your path led through the sea, your way through the mighty waters, though your footprints were not seen. NRS 20 You led your people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.
