BBE 1 <To the chief music-maker on the Gittith. A Psalm. Of David.> O Lord, our Lord, whose glory is higher than the heavens, how noble is your name in all the earth! NIV 1 O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens. BBE 2 You have made clear your strength even out of the mouths of babies at the breast, because of those who are against you; so that you may put to shame the cruel and violent man. NIV 2 From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise because of your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger. BBE 3 When I see your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have put in their places; NIV 3 When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, BBE 4 What is man, that you keep him in mind? the son of man, that you take him into account? NIV 4 what is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him? BBE 5 For you have made him only a little lower than the gods, crowning him with glory and honour. NIV 5 You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor. BBE 6 You have made him ruler over the works of your hands; you have put all things under his feet; NIV 6 You made him ruler over the works of your hands; you put everything under his feet: BBE 7 All sheep and oxen, and all the beasts of the field; NIV 7 all flocks and herds, and the beasts of the field, BBE 8 The birds of the air and the fish of the sea, and whatever goes through the deep waters of the seas. NIV 8 the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas. BBE 9 O Lord, our Lord, how noble is your name in all the earth! NIV 9 O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
