Psalm 80

LEB 1 Give ear, O shepherd of Israel, [who] leads Joseph like a flock. Shine forth, [you who] sits [enthroned above] the cherubim. NIV 1 Hear us, O Shepherd of Israel, you who lead Joseph like a flock; you who sit enthroned between the cherubim, shine forth LEB 2 Before Ephraim, Benjamin, and Manasseh, stir up your power and come for our salvation. NIV 2 before Ephraim, Benjamin and Manasseh. Awaken your might; come and save us. LEB 3 O God, restore us, and cause your face to shine that we may be saved. NIV 3 Restore us, O God; make your face shine upon us, that we may be saved. LEB 4 O Yahweh God [of] hosts, {how long will you be angry} against the prayer of your people? NIV 4 O LORD God Almighty, how long will your anger smolder against the prayers of your people? LEB 5 You have fed them [the] bread of tears; you have given them tears to drink in full measure. NIV 5 You have fed them with the bread of tears; you have made them drink tears by the bowlful. LEB 6 You have made us [an object of] strife to our neighbors, and our enemies mock among themselves. NIV 6 You have made us a source of contention to our neighbors, and our enemies mock us. LEB 7 O God [of] hosts, restore us and cause your face to shine that we may be saved. NIV 7 Restore us, O God Almighty; make your face shine upon us, that we may be saved. LEB 8 You uprooted a vine from Egypt; you drove out [the] nations and planted it. NIV 8 You brought a vine out of Egypt; you drove out the nations and planted it. LEB 9 You prepared [a place] before it, and {it took deep root} and filled [the] land. NIV 9 You cleared the ground for it, and it took root and filled the land. LEB 10 [The] mountains were covered with its shade, and [the] mighty cedars [with] its boughs. NIV 10 The mountains were covered with its shade, the mighty cedars with its branches. LEB 11 It spread its branches to [the] sea and its shoots to [the] river. NIV 11 It sent out its boughs to the Sea, its shoots as far as the River. LEB 12 Why have you broken down its walls, so that all [who] pass on [the] road pluck [fruit from] it? NIV 12 Why have you broken down its walls so that all who pass by pick its grapes? LEB 13 Swine from the forests devour it and creatures of [the] field feed on it. NIV 13 Boars from the forest ravage it and the creatures of the field feed on it. LEB 14 Please return, O God [of] hosts. Observe from heaven and see, and pay attention to this vine, NIV 14 Return to us, O God Almighty! Look down from heaven and see! Watch over this vine, LEB 15 even[the] stalk that your right hand planted, and concerning [the] shoot you strengthened for yourself. NIV 15 the root your right hand has planted, the son you have raised up for yourself. LEB 16 [It is] burned with fire, cut down. They perish at the rebuke of your face. NIV 16 Your vine is cut down, it is burned with fire; at your rebuke your people perish. LEB 17 Let your hand be on the man of your right hand, on [the] son of humankind [whom] you made strong for yourself. NIV 17 Let your hand rest on the man at your right hand, the son of man you have raised up for yourself. LEB 18 Then we will not turn back from you. Restore us to life, and we will proclaim your name. NIV 18 Then we will not turn away from you; revive us, and we will call on your name. LEB 19 O Yahweh God [of] hosts, restore us; cause your face to shine that we may be saved. NIV 19 Restore us, O LORD God Almighty; make your face shine upon us, that we may be saved.
