Psalm 91

RHE 1 (90-1) <The praise of a canticle for David.> He that dwelleth in the aid of the most High, shall abide under the protection of the God of Jacob. NIV 1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. RHE 2 (90-2) He shall say to the Lord: Thou art my protector, and my refuge: my God, in him will I trust. NIV 2 I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust." RHE 3 (90-3) For he hath delivered me from the snare of the hunters: and from the sharp word. NIV 3 Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare and from the deadly pestilence. RHE 4 (90-4) He will overshadow thee with his shoulders: and under his wings thou shalt trust. NIV 4 He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. RHE 5 (90-5) His truth shall compass thee with a shield: thou shalt not be afraid of the terror of the night. NIV 5 You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, RHE 6 (90-6) Of the arrow that flieth in the day, of the business that walketh about in the dark: of invasion, or of the noonday devil. NIV 6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. RHE 7 (90-7) A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand: but it shall not come nigh thee. NIV 7 A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. RHE 8 (90-8) But thou shalt consider with thy eyes: and shalt see the reward of the wicked. NIV 8 You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. RHE 9 (90-9) Because thou, O Lord, art my hope: thou hast made the most High thy refuge. NIV 9 If you make the Most High your dwelling-- even the LORD, who is my refuge-- RHE 10 (90-10) There shall no evil come to thee: nor shall the scourge come near thy dwelling. NIV 10 then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent. RHE 11 (90-11) For he hath given his angels charge over thee; to keep thee in all thy ways. NIV 11 For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; RHE 12 (90-12) In their hands they shall bear thee up: lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. NIV 12 they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. RHE 13 (90-13) Thou shalt walk upon the asp and the basilisk: and thou shalt trample under foot the lion and the dragon. NIV 13 You will tread upon the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. RHE 14 (90-14) Because he hoped in me I will deliver him: I will protect him because he hath known my name. NIV 14 "Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. RHE 15 (90-15) He shall cry to me, and I will hear him: I am with him in tribulation, I will deliver him, and I will glorify him. NIV 15 He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. RHE 16 (90-16) I will fill him with length of days; and I will shew him my salvation. NIV 16 With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation."
