Revelation 19

MSG 1 I heard a sound like massed choirs in Heaven singing, Hallelujah! The salvation and glory and power are God's - NIV 1 After this I heard what sounded like the roar of a great multitude in heaven shouting: "Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God, MSG 2 his judgments true, his judgments just. He judged the great Whore who corrupted the earth with her lust. He avenged on her the blood of his servants. NIV 2 for true and just are his judgments. He has condemned the great prostitute who corrupted the earth by her adulteries. He has avenged on her the blood of his servants." MSG 3 Then, more singing: Hallelujah! The smoke from her burning billows up to high Heaven forever and ever and ever. NIV 3 And again they shouted: "Hallelujah! The smoke from her goes up for ever and ever." MSG 4 The Twenty-four Elders and the Four Animals fell to their knees and worshiped God on his Throne, praising, Amen! Yes! Hallelujah! NIV 4 The twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God, who was seated on the throne. And they cried: "Amen, Hallelujah!" MSG 5 From the Throne came a shout, a command: Praise our God, all you his servants, All you who fear him, small and great! NIV 5 Then a voice came from the throne, saying: "Praise our God, all you his servants, you who fear him, both small and great!" MSG 6 Then I heard the sound of massed choirs, the sound of a mighty cataract, the sound of strong thunder: Hallelujah! The Master reigns, our God, the Sovereign-Strong! NIV 6 Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting: "Hallelujah! For our Lord God Almighty reigns. MSG 7 Let us celebrate, let us rejoice, let us give him the glory! The Marriage of the Lamb has come; his Wife has made herself ready. NIV 7 Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready. MSG 8 She was given a bridal gown of bright and shining linen. The linen is the righteousness of the saints. NIV 8 Fine linen, bright and clean, was given her to wear." MSG 9 The Angel said to me, "Write this: 'Blessed are those invited to the Wedding Supper of the Lamb.'" He added, "These are the true words of God!" NIV 9 Then the angel said to me, "Write: 'Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!' " And he added, "These are the true words of God." MSG 10 I fell at his feet to worship him, but he wouldn't let me. "Don't do that," he said. "I'm a servant just like you, and like your brothers and sisters who hold to the witness of Jesus. The witness of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy." NIV 10 At this I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, "Do not do it! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy." MSG 11 Then I saw Heaven open wide - and oh! a white horse and its Rider. The Rider, named Faithful and True, judges and makes war in pure righteousness. NIV 11 I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. MSG 12 His eyes are a blaze of fire, on his head many crowns. He has a Name inscribed that's known only to himself. NIV 12 His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. MSG 13 He is dressed in a robe soaked with blood, and he is addressed as "Word of God." NIV 13 He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. MSG 14 The armies of Heaven, mounted on white horses and dressed in dazzling white linen, follow him. NIV 14 The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. MSG 15 A sharp sword comes out of his mouth so he can subdue the nations, then rule them with a rod of iron. He treads the winepress of the raging wrath of God, the Sovereign-Strong. NIV 15 Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. "He will rule them with an iron scepter." He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. MSG 16 On his robe and thigh is written, King of kings, Lord of lords. NIV 16 On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. MSG 17 I saw an Angel standing in the sun, shouting to all flying birds in Middle-Heaven, "Come to the Great Supper of God! NIV 17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun, who cried in a loud voice to all the birds flying in midair, "Come, gather together for the great supper of God, MSG 18 Feast on the flesh of kings and captains and champions, horses and their riders. Eat your fill of them all - free and slave, small and great!" NIV 18 so that you may eat the flesh of kings, generals, and mighty men, of horses and their riders, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, small and great." MSG 19 I saw the Beast and, assembled with him, earth's kings and their armies, ready to make war against the One on the horse and his army. NIV 19 Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to make war against the rider on the horse and his army. MSG 20 The Beast was taken, and with him, his puppet, the False Prophet, who used signs to dazzle and deceive those who had taken the mark of the Beast and worshiped his image. They were thrown alive, those two, into Lake Fire and Brimstone. NIV 20 But the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who had performed the miraculous signs on his behalf. With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped his image. The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur. MSG 21 The rest were killed by the sword of the One on the horse, the sword that comes from his mouth. All the birds held a feast on their flesh. NIV 21 The rest of them were killed with the sword that came out of the mouth of the rider on the horse, and all the birds gorged themselves on their flesh.
