Revelation 21

WYC 1 And I saw new heaven and new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth went away, and the sea is not now [and now is not the sea]. NIV 1 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. WYC 2 And I John saw the holy city Jerusalem, new, coming down from heaven, made ready of God, as a wife adorned to her husband. [And I John saw the holy city Jerusalem, new, coming down from heaven of God, made ready as a wife adorned to her husband.] NIV 2 I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. WYC 3 And I heard a great voice from the throne [And I heard a great voice of the throne], saying, Lo! the tabernacle of God is with men, and he shall dwell with them; and they shall be his people, and he God with them shall be their God. NIV 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. WYC 4 And God shall wipe away each tear from the eyes of them; and death shall no more be, neither mourning, neither crying, neither sorrow, shall (all) be over; which first things went away. NIV 4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." WYC 5 And he said, that sat in the throne, Lo! I make all things new. And he said to me, Write thou, for these words be most faithful and true. NIV 5 He who was seated on the throne said, "I am making everything new!" Then he said, "Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true." WYC 6 And he said to me, It is done; I am alpha and omega, the beginning and the end. I shall give freely of the well of quick water to him that thirsteth [I shall give freely to the thristing of the well of quick water]. NIV 6 He said to me: "It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life. WYC 7 He that shall overcome, shall wield these things; and I shall be God to him, and he shall be son to me. NIV 7 He who overcomes will inherit all this, and I will be his God and he will be my son. WYC 8 But to fearedful men, and unbelieveful, and cursed, and man-quellers, and fornicators, and to witches, and to worshippers of idols, and to all liars, the part of them shall be in the pool burning with fire and brimstone, that is the second death. NIV 8 But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars--their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death." WYC 9 And one came of the seven angels, having vials full of the seven last vengeances. And he spake with me, and said, Come thou, and I shall show to thee the spousess, the wife of the lamb. [And one came of the seven angels, having vials full of the seven last plagues. And he spake with me saying, Come thou, I shall show to thee the spouse, wife of the lamb.] NIV 9 One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues came and said to me, "Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb." WYC 10 And he took me up in Spirit into a great hill and high; and he showed to me the holy city of Jerusalem, coming down from heaven of God, NIV 10 And he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the Holy City, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God. WYC 11 having the clarity of God; and the light of it like [to] a precious stone, as the stone jasper, [and] as crystal. NIV 11 It shone with the glory of God, and its brilliance was like that of a very precious jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal. WYC 12 And it had a wall great and high, having twelve gates, and in the gates of it twelve angels, and names written in, that be the names of [the] twelve lineages of the sons of Israel; NIV 12 It had a great, high wall with twelve gates, and with twelve angels at the gates. On the gates were written the names of the twelve tribes of Israel. WYC 13 from the east three gates, and from the north three gates, and from the south three gates, and from the west three gates. NIV 13 There were three gates on the east, three on the north, three on the south and three on the west. WYC 14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundaments, and in them the twelve names of the twelve apostles, and of the lamb. NIV 14 The wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. WYC 15 And he that spake with me, had a golden measure of a reed, that he should mete the city, and the gates of it, and the wall. NIV 15 The angel who talked with me had a measuring rod of gold to measure the city, its gates and its walls. WYC 16 And the city was set in square; and the length of it is so much, as much as is the breadth. And he meted the city with the reed, by furlongs twelve thousands [by furlongs twelve thousand]. And the height, and the length and the breadth of it, be even. NIV 16 The city was laid out like a square, as long as it was wide. He measured the city with the rod and found it to be 12,000 stadia in length, and as wide and high as it is long. WYC 17 And he meted the walls of it, of an hundred and forty and four cubits, by measure of man, that is, of the angel. NIV 17 He measured its wall and it was 144 cubits thick, by man's measurement, which the angel was using. WYC 18 And the building of the wall thereof was of the stone jasper. And the city itself was clean gold, like [to] clean glass. NIV 18 The wall was made of jasper, and the city of pure gold, as pure as glass. WYC 19 And the foundaments of the wall of the city were adorned with all precious stone. The first foundament, jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, chalcedony; the fourth, emerald [smaragdus]; NIV 19 The foundations of the city walls were decorated with every kind of precious stone. The first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire, the third chalcedony, the fourth emerald, WYC 20 the fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolyte; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, topaz; the tenth, chrysoprasus; the eleventh, jacinth; the twelfth, amethyst. NIV 20 the fifth sardonyx, the sixth carnelian, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst. WYC 21 And the twelve gates be twelve margarites, by each; and each gate was of each margarite. And the streets of the city were clean gold, as of glass full shining [as glass full shining]. NIV 21 The twelve gates were twelve pearls, each gate made of a single pearl. The great street of the city was of pure gold, like transparent glass. WYC 22 And I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God almighty and the lamb, is the temple of it. NIV 22 I did not see a temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. WYC 23 And the city hath no need of the sun, neither [of] moon, that they shine in it; for the clarity of God shall lighten it; and the lamb is the lantern of it. NIV 23 The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp. WYC 24 And folks shall walk in the light of it; and the kings of the earth shall bring their glory and honour into it. NIV 24 The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it. WYC 25 And the gates of it shall not be closed by day; and night shall not be there. NIV 25 On no day will its gates ever be shut, for there will be no night there. WYC 26 And they shall bring the glory and honour of folks into it. NIV 26 The glory and honor of the nations will be brought into it. WYC 27 Neither any man defouled [Neither any thing defouled], and doing abomination and lying, shall enter into it; but they that be written in the book of life of the lamb. NIV 27 Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life.
