Romans 12

CSB 1 Therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God; this is your spiritual worship. NIV 1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God--this is your spiritual act of worship. CSB 2 Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God. NIV 2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will. CSB 3 For by the grace given to me, I tell everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he should think. Instead, think sensibly, as God has distributed a measure of faith to each one. NIV 3 For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you. CSB 4 Now as we have many parts in one body, and all the parts do not have the same function, NIV 4 Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, CSB 5 in the same way we who are many are one body in Christ and individually members of one another. NIV 5 so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. CSB 6 According to the grace given to us, we have different gifts: If prophecy, use it according to the standard of faith; NIV 6 We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man's gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith. CSB 7 if service, in service; if teaching, in teaching; NIV 7 If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; CSB 8 if exhorting, in exhortation; giving, with generosity; leading, with diligence; showing mercy, with cheerfulness. NIV 8 if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully. CSB 9 Love must be without hypocrisy. Detest evil; cling to what is good. NIV 9 Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. CSB 10 Show family affection to one another with brotherly love. Outdo one another in showing honor. NIV 10 Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves. CSB 11 Do not lack diligence; be fervent in spirit; serve the Lord. NIV 11 Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. CSB 12 Rejoice in hope; be patient in affliction; be persistent in prayer. NIV 12 Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. CSB 13 Share with the saints in their needs; pursue hospitality. NIV 13 Share with God's people who are in need. Practice hospitality. CSB 14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. NIV 14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. CSB 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice; weep with those who weep. NIV 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. CSB 16 Be in agreement with one another. Do not be proud; instead, associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own estimation. NIV 16 Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited. CSB 17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Try to do what is honorable in everyone's eyes. NIV 17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody. CSB 18 If possible, on your part, live at peace with everyone. NIV 18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. CSB 19 Friends, do not avenge yourselves; instead, leave room for His wrath. For it is written: Vengeance belongs to Me; I will repay, says the Lord. NIV 19 Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," says the Lord. CSB 20 But If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him something to drink. For in so doing you will be heaping fiery coals on his head. NIV 20 On the contrary: "If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head." CSB 21 Do not be conquered by evil, but conquer evil with good. NIV 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
