Romans 12

TMB 1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. NIV 1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God--this is your spiritual act of worship. TMB 2 And be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. NIV 2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will. TMB 3 For I say to every man that is among you, through the grace given unto me, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. NIV 3 For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you. TMB 4 For as we have many members in one body and all members have not the same office, NIV 4 Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, TMB 5 so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. NIV 5 so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. TMB 6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us: if prophecy, let us prophesy according to our portion of faith; NIV 6 We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man's gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith. TMB 7 or ministry, let us wait on our ministering; or he that teacheth, on teaching; NIV 7 If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; TMB 8 or he that exhorteth, on exhortation; he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that showeth mercy, with cheerfulness. NIV 8 if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully. TMB 9 Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. NIV 9 Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. TMB 10 Have kindly affection one for another with brotherly love, in honor preferring one another; NIV 10 Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves. TMB 11 not slothful in business; fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; NIV 11 Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. TMB 12 rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing instant in prayer; NIV 12 Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. TMB 13 distributing to the necessity of saints, given to hospitality. NIV 13 Share with God's people who are in need. Practice hospitality. TMB 14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and curse not. NIV 14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. TMB 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. NIV 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. TMB 16 Be of the same mind one toward another. Set not your mind on high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits. NIV 16 Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited. TMB 17 Recompense no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. NIV 17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody. TMB 18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. NIV 18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. TMB 19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath; for it is written: "Vengeance is Mine; I will repay, saith the Lord." NIV 19 Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," says the Lord. TMB 20 Therefore: "If thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink. For in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head." NIV 20 On the contrary: "If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head." TMB 21 Be not overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. NIV 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
