Romans 16

DBY 1 But I commend to you Phoebe, our sister, who is minister of the assembly which is in Cenchrea; NIV 1 I commend to you our sister Phoebe, a servant of the church in Cenchrea. DBY 2 that ye may receive her in [the] Lord worthily of saints, and that ye may assist her in whatever matter she has need of you; for *she* also has been a helper of many, and of myself. NIV 2 I ask you to receive her in the Lord in a way worthy of the saints and to give her any help she may need from you, for she has been a great help to many people, including me. DBY 3 Salute Prisca and Aquila, my fellow-workmen in Christ Jesus, NIV 3 Greet Priscilla and Aquila, my fellow workers in Christ Jesus. DBY 4 (who for my life staked their own neck; to whom not *I* only am thankful, but also all the assemblies of the nations,) NIV 4 They risked their lives for me. Not only I but all the churches of the Gentiles are grateful to them. DBY 5 and the assembly at their house. Salute Epaenetus, my beloved, who is [the] first-fruits of Asia for Christ. NIV 5 Greet also the church that meets at their house. Greet my dear friend Epenetus, who was the first convert to Christ in the province of Asia. DBY 6 Salute Maria, who laboured much for you. NIV 6 Greet Mary, who worked very hard for you. DBY 7 Salute Andronicus and Junias, my kinsmen and fellow-captives, who are of note among the apostles; who were also in Christ before me. NIV 7 Greet Andronicus and Junias, my relatives who have been in prison with me. They are outstanding among the apostles, and they were in Christ before I was. DBY 8 Salute Amplias, my beloved in the Lord. NIV 8 Greet Ampliatus, whom I love in the Lord. DBY 9 Salute Urbanus, our fellow-workman in Christ, and Stachys, my beloved. NIV 9 Greet Urbanus, our fellow worker in Christ, and my dear friend Stachys. DBY 10 Salute Apelles, approved in Christ. Salute those who belong to Aristobulus. NIV 10 Greet Apelles, tested and approved in Christ. DBY 11 Salute Herodion, my kinsman. Salute those who belong to Narcissus, who are in [the] Lord. NIV 11 Greet Herodion, my relative. Greet those in the household of Narcissus who are in the Lord. DBY 12 Salute Tryphaena and Tryphosa, who labour in [the] Lord. Salute Persis, the beloved, who has laboured much in [the] Lord. NIV 12 Greet Tryphena and Tryphosa, those women who work hard in the Lord. Greet my dear friend Persis, another woman who has worked very hard in the Lord. DBY 13 Salute Rufus, chosen in [the] Lord; and his mother and mine. NIV 13 Greet Rufus, chosen in the Lord, and his mother, who has been a mother to me, too. DBY 14 Salute Asyncritus, Phlegon, Hermes, Patrobas, Hermas, and the brethren with them. NIV 14 Greet Asyncritus, Phlegon, Hermes, Patrobas, Hermas and the brothers with them. DBY 15 Salute Philologus, and Julia, Nereus, and his sister, and Olympas, and all the saints with them. NIV 15 Greet Philologus, Julia, Nereus and his sister, and Olympas and all the saints with them. DBY 16 Salute one another with a holy kiss. All the assemblies of Christ salute you. NIV 16 Greet one another with a holy kiss. All the churches of Christ send greetings. DBY 17 But I beseech you, brethren, to consider those who create divisions and occasions of falling, contrary to the doctrine which *ye* have learnt, and turn away from them. NIV 17 I urge you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them. DBY 18 For such serve not our Lord Christ, but their own belly, and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting. NIV 18 For such people are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By smooth talk and flattery they deceive the minds of naive people. DBY 19 For your obedience has reached to all. I rejoice therefore as it regards you; but I wish you to be wise [as] to that which is good, and simple [as] to evil. NIV 19 Everyone has heard about your obedience, so I am full of joy over you; but I want you to be wise about what is good, and innocent about what is evil. DBY 20 But the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [be] with you. NIV 20 The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you. DBY 21 Timotheus, my fellow-workman, and Lucius, and Jason, and Sosipater, my kinsmen, salute you. NIV 21 Timothy, my fellow worker, sends his greetings to you, as do Lucius, Jason and Sosipater, my relatives. DBY 22 I Tertius, who have written this epistle, salute you in [the] Lord. NIV 22 I, Tertius, who wrote down this letter, greet you in the Lord. DBY 23 Gaius, my host and of the whole assembly, salutes you. Erastus, the steward of the city, salutes you, and the brother Quartus. NIV 23 Gaius, whose hospitality I and the whole church here enjoy, sends you his greetings. Erastus, who is the city's director of public works, and our brother Quartus send you their greetings. DBY 24 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [be] with you all. Amen. DBY 25 Now to him that is able to establish you, according to my glad tidings and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to [the] revelation of [the] mystery, as to which silence has been kept in [the] times of the ages, NIV 25 Now to him who is able to establish you by my gospel and the proclamation of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery hidden for long ages past, DBY 26 but [which] has now been made manifest, and by prophetic scriptures, according to commandment of the eternal God, made known for obedience of faith to all the nations -- NIV 26 but now revealed and made known through the prophetic writings by the command of the eternal God, so that all nations might believe and obey him-- DBY 27 [the] only wise God, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever. Amen. NIV 27 to the only wise God be glory forever through Jesus Christ! Amen.
