Romans 3:21-26

RSV 21 But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from law, although the law and the prophets bear witness to it, NIV 21 But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. RSV 22 the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction; NIV 22 This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, RSV 23 since all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, NIV 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, RSV 24 they are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus, NIV 24 and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. RSV 25 whom God put forward as an expiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God's righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins; NIV 25 God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood. He did this to demonstrate his justice, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished-- RSV 26 it was to prove at the present time that he himself is righteous and that he justifies him who has faith in Jesus. NIV 26 he did it to demonstrate his justice at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.
