1 Masquil de Etán ezraíta. Las misericordias del SEÑOR cantaré perpetuamente; en generación y generación haré notoria tu verdad con mi boca.

I will sing of the LORD’s great love forever; with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known through all generations.
2 Porque dije: Para siempre será edificada misericordia en los cielos; en ellos afirmarás tu verdad.

I will declare that your love stands firm forever, that you have established your faithfulness in heaven itself.
3 Hice alianza con mi escogido; juré a David mi siervo, <I>diciendo</I> :

You said, “I have made a covenant with my chosen one, I have sworn to David my servant,
4 Para siempre confirmaré tu simiente, y edificaré tu trono por todas las generaciones. (Selah.)

‘I will establish your line forever and make your throne firm through all generations.’ ”
5 Y celebrarán los cielos tu maravilla, oh SEÑOR; tu verdad también en la congregación de los santos.

The heavens praise your wonders, LORD, your faithfulness too, in the assembly of the holy ones.
6 Porque ¿quién en los cielos se igualará con el SEÑOR? ¿<I>Quién</I> será semejante al SEÑOR entre los hijos de los poderosos?

For who in the skies above can compare with the LORD? Who is like the LORD among the heavenly beings?
7 Dios terrible en la grande congregación de los santos, y formidable sobre todos sus alrededores.

In the council of the holy ones God is greatly feared; he is more awesome than all who surround him.
8 Oh SEÑOR, Dios de los ejércitos, ¿Quién como tú? FUERTE-JAH, Rodeado de tu verdad.

Who is like you, LORD God Almighty? You, LORD, are mighty, and your faithfulness surrounds you.
9 Tú dominas sobre la soberbia del mar; cuando se levantan sus ondas, tú las sosiegas.

You rule over the surging sea; when its waves mount up, you still them.
10 Tú quebrantaste a Egipto como <I>a un</I> muerto; con el brazo de tu fortaleza esparciste a tus enemigos.

You crushed Rahab like one of the slain; with your strong arm you scattered your enemies.
11 Tuyos <I>son</I> los cielos, tuya también la tierra; el mundo y su plenitud, tú lo fundaste.

The heavens are yours, and yours also the earth; you founded the world and all that is in it.
12 Al aquilón y al austro tú <I>los</I> creaste; <I>el</I> Tabor y <I>el</I> Hermón en tu Nombre cantarán.

You created the north and the south; Tabor and Hermon sing for joy at your name.
13 Tuyo <I>es</I> el brazo con valentía; fuerte es tu mano, ensalzada tu diestra.

Your arm is endowed with power; your hand is strong, your right hand exalted.
14 Justicia y juicio son la compostura de tu trono; misericordia y verdad van delante de tu rostro.

Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne; love and faithfulness go before you.
15 Dichoso el pueblo que sabe jubilar; andarán, oh SEÑOR, a la luz de tu rostro.

Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you, who walk in the light of your presence, LORD.
16 En tu Nombre se alegrarán cada día; y en tu justicia se ensalzarán.

They rejoice in your name all day long; they celebrate your righteousness.
17 Porque tú <I>eres</I> la gloria de su fortaleza; y por tu <I>buena</I> voluntad ensalzarás nuestro cuerno.

For you are their glory and strength, and by your favor you exalt our horn.
18 Porque el SEÑOR <I>es</I> nuestro escudo; y nuestro rey <I>es</I> el Santo de Israel.

Indeed, our shield belongs to the LORD, our king to the Holy One of Israel.
19 Entonces hablaste en visión a tu santo, y dijiste: <I>Yo</I> he puesto el socorro sobre <I>uno que es</I> valiente; he ensalzado un escogido de mi pueblo.

Once you spoke in a vision, to your faithful people you said: “I have bestowed strength on a warrior; I have raised up a young man from among the people.
20 Hallé a David mi siervo; lo ungí con el aceite de mi santidad.

I have found David my servant; with my sacred oil I have anointed him.
21 Que mi mano será firme con él, mi brazo también lo fortificará.

My hand will sustain him; surely my arm will strengthen him.
22 No lo sujetará enemigo, ni hijo de iniquidad lo quebrantará.

The enemy will not get the better of him; the wicked will not oppress him.
23 Mas <I>yo</I> quebrantaré delante de él a sus enemigos, y heriré a sus aborrecedores.

I will crush his foes before him and strike down his adversaries.
24 Y mi verdad y mi misericordia <I>serán</I> con él; y en mi nombre será ensalzado su cuerno.

My faithful love will be with him, and through my name his horn will be exalted.
25 <I>Asimismo</I> pondré su mano en el mar, y en los ríos su diestra.

I will set his hand over the sea, his right hand over the rivers.
26 El me llamará: Mi padre <I>eres</I> tú, mi Dios, y la roca de mi salud.

He will call out to me, ‘You are my Father, my God, the Rock my Savior.’
27 Yo también le pondré <I>por</I> primogénito, alto sobre los reyes de la tierra.

And I will appoint him to be my firstborn, the most exalted of the kings of the earth.
28 Para siempre le conservaré mi misericordia; y mi alianza será firme con él.

I will maintain my love to him forever, and my covenant with him will never fail.
29 Y pondré su simiente para siempre, y su trono como los días de los cielos.

I will establish his line forever, his throne as long as the heavens endure.
30 Si dejaren sus hijos mi ley, y no anduvieren en mis juicios;

“If his sons forsake my law and do not follow my statutes,
31 si profanaren mis estatutos, y no guardaren mis mandamientos;

if they violate my decrees and fail to keep my commands,
32 entonces visitaré con vara su rebelión, y con azotes sus iniquidades.

I will punish their sin with the rod, their iniquity with flogging;
33 Mas no quitaré de él mi misericordia, ni falsearé mi verdad.

but I will not take my love from him, nor will I ever betray my faithfulness.
34 No profanaré mi pacto, ni mudaré lo que ha salido de mis labios.

I will not violate my covenant or alter what my lips have uttered.
35 Una vez he jurado por mi santidad, no mentiré a David.

Once for all, I have sworn by my holiness— and I will not lie to David—
36 Su simiente será para siempre, y su trono como el sol delante de mí.

that his line will continue forever and his throne endure before me like the sun;
37 Como la luna será firme para siempre, y como un testigo fiel en el cielo. (Selah.)

it will be established forever like the moon, the faithful witness in the sky.”
38 Mas tú desechaste y menospreciaste a tu Ungido; y te has airado <I>con él</I> .

But you have rejected, you have spurned, you have been very angry with your anointed one.
39 Rompiste el pacto de tu siervo; has profanado su corona hasta la tierra.

You have renounced the covenant with your servant and have defiled his crown in the dust.
40 Aportillaste todos sus vallados; has quebrantado sus fortalezas.

You have broken through all his walls and reduced his strongholds to ruins.
41 Lo saquean todos los que pasaron por el camino; es oprobio a sus vecinos.

All who pass by have plundered him; he has become the scorn of his neighbors.
42 Has ensalzado la diestra de sus enemigos; has alegrado a todos sus adversarios.

You have exalted the right hand of his foes; you have made all his enemies rejoice.
43 Embotaste asimismo el filo de su espada, y no lo levantaste en la batalla.

Indeed, you have turned back the edge of his sword and have not supported him in battle.
44 Hiciste cesar su claridad, y echaste su trono por tierra.

You have put an end to his splendor and cast his throne to the ground.
45 Has acortado los días de su juventud; le has cubierto de afrenta. (Selah.)

You have cut short the days of his youth; you have covered him with a mantle of shame.
46 ¿Hasta cuándo, oh SEÑOR? ¿Te esconderás para siempre? ¿Arderá <I>para siempre</I> tu ira como el fuego?

How long, LORD? Will you hide yourself forever? How long will your wrath burn like fire?
47 Acuérdate de cuán <I>corto</I> sea mi tiempo. ¿Por qué creaste <I>sujetos</I> a vanidad a todos los hijos del hombre?

Remember how fleeting is my life. For what futility you have created all humanity!

Who can live and not see death, or who can escape the power of the grave?
49 Señor, ¿dónde <I>están</I> tus antiguas misericordias? Has jurado a David por tu verdad.

Lord, where is your former great love, which in your faithfulness you swore to David?
50 Señor, acuérdate del oprobio de tus siervos; <I>oprobio que</I> llevo yo en mi seno de muchos pueblos.

Remember, Lord, how your servant has been mocked, how I bear in my heart the taunts of all the nations,
51 Porque tus enemigos, oh SEÑOR, han deshonrado, porque tus enemigos han deshonrado los pasos de tu Ungido.

the taunts with which your enemies, LORD, have mocked, with which they have mocked every step of your anointed one.
52 Bendito <I>sea</I> el SEÑOR para siempre. Amén, y Amén.
