KJV 1 But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine: NIV 1 You must teach what is in accord with sound doctrine. KJV 2 That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience. NIV 2 Teach the older men to be temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled, and sound in faith, in love and in endurance. KJV 3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; NIV 3 Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. KJV 4 That they may teach the young women to be sober , to love their husbands, to love their children, NIV 4 Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, KJV 5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed . NIV 5 to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.
