Titus 3:1-7

KJV 1 Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates , to be ready to every good work, NIV 1 Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, KJV 2 To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men. NIV 2 to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and to show true humility toward all men. KJV 3 For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived , serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. NIV 3 At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. KJV 4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared , NIV 4 But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, KJV 5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done , but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; NIV 5 he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, KJV 6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; NIV 6 whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, KJV 7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. NIV 7 so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.
