1 Chronicles 2:13-23

13 And Jesse begat his firstborn Eliab, and Abinadab the second and Shimma the third,
14 Nethaneel the fourth, Raddai the fifth,
15 Ozem the sixth, David the seventh,
16 whose sisters were Zeruiah, and Abigail. The sons of Zeruiah were three: Abishai, Joab, and Asahel.
17 And Abigail gave birth to Amasa, whose father was Jether the Ishmeelite.
18 And Caleb, the son of Hezron, begat Jerioth of Azubah, his wife. And her sons were Jesher, Shobab, and Ardon.
19 And when Azubah was dead, Caleb took Ephrath as wife, who gave birth to Hur unto him.
20 And Hur begat Uri, and Uri begat Bezaleel.
21 And afterward Hezron went in to the daughter of Machir, the father of Gilead, whom he married when he was sixty years old, and she gave birth to Segub unto him.
22 And Segub begat Jair, who had twenty-three cities in the land of Gilead.
23 And Geshur and Aram took the cities of Jair from them, with Kenath and its towns, even sixty cities. All these were of the sons of Machir, the father of Gilead.

INTRODUCTION TO 1 CHRONICLES 2

This chapter begins with the twelve sons of Israel or Jacob, 1Ch 2:1,2, then reckons the sons of Judah, the fourth son of Jacob, 1Ch 2:3,4, then the posterity of Pharez and Zerah, sons of Judah, 1Ch 2:5-8, next the sons of Hezron, a son of Pharez, 1Ch 2:9, particularly the posterity of Ram, a son of Hezron, from whom sprung Jesse and his family, 1Ch 2:10-17, then of Caleb: another son of Hezron, 1Ch 2:18-24, and next of Jerahmeel, the firstborn of Hezron, 1Ch 1:25-33 and particularly the posterity of Sheshan, a descendant of his, 1Ch 1:34-41 and then other sons of Caleb, with their posterity, are reckoned, 1Ch 1:42-54 and the chapter is closed with the families of the Scribes in Jabesh, the same with the Kenites, 1Ch 2:55.
