1 Chronicles 6:51-61

51 Bukki his son, `Uzzi his son, Zerachyah his son,
52 Merayot his son, Amaryah his son, Achituv his son,
53 Tzadok his son, Achima`atz his son.
54 Now these are their dwelling-places according to their encampments in their borders: to the sons of Aharon, of the families of the Kehati (for theirs was the [first] lot),
55 to them they gave Hevron in the land of Yehudah, and the suburbs of it round about it;
56 but the fields of the city, and the villages of it, they gave to Kalev the son of Yefunneh.
57 To the sons of Aharon they gave the cities of refuge, Hevron; Livna also with its suburbs, and Yattir, and Eshtemoa with its suburbs,
58 and Hilen with its suburbs, Devir with its suburbs,
59 and `Ashan with its suburbs, and Beit-Shemesh with its suburbs;
60 and out of the tribe of Binyamin, Geva with its suburbs, and `Allemet with its suburbs, and `Anatot with its suburbs. All their cities throughout their families were thirteen cities.
61 To the rest of the sons of Kehat [were given] by lot, out of the family of the tribe, out of the half-tribe, the half of Menashsheh, ten cities.

INTRODUCTION TO 1 CHRONICLES 6

This chapter begins with the fathers and heads of the tribe of Levi, 1Ch 6:1-3, and reckons up the high priests in the line of Eleazar, to the Babylonish captivity, 1Ch 6:4-15 gives an account of the families of the sons of Levi, 1Ch 6:16-30 and of those Levites that were employed as singers, and in other ministrations in the sanctuary in the times of David and Solomon, 1Ch 6:31-49, then follows a repetition of the sons of Aaron in the line of Eleazar, to the said times, 1Ch 6:50-53, and a recital of the dwelling places of the Levites in the several tribes, 1Ch 6:54-81.
