1 Chronik 6:48-58

48 Ihre Brüder aber, die Leviten, waren gegeben zu allerlei Amt an der Wohnung des Hauses Gottes.

49 Aaron aber und seine Söhne waren im Amt, anzuzünden auf dem Brandopferaltar und auf dem Räucheraltar und zu allem Geschäft im Allerheiligsten und zu versöhnen Israel, wie Mose, der Knecht Gottes, geboten hatte. {~}

50 Dies sind aber die Kinder Aarons: Eleasar, sein Sohn: des Sohn war Pinehas; des Sohn war Abisua;

51 des Sohn war Bukki, des Sohn war Usi; des Sohn war Serahja;

52 des Sohn war Merajoth; des Sohn war Amarja; des Sohn war Ahitob;

53 des Sohn war Zadok; des Sohn war Ahimaaz.

54 Und dies ist ihre Wohnung und Sitz in ihren Grenzen, nämlich der Kinder Aaron, des Geschlechts der Kahathiter; denn das Los fiel ihnen zu,

55 und sie gaben ihnen Hebron im Lande Juda und desselben Vorstädte umher.

56 Aber das Feld der Stadt und ihre Dörfer gaben sie Kaleb, dem Sohn Jephunnes.

57 So gaben sie nun den Kinder Aaron die Freistädte Hebron und Libna samt ihren Vorstädten, Jatthir und Esthemoa mit ihren Vorstädten. {~}

INTRODUCTION TO 1 CHRONICLES 6

This chapter begins with the fathers and heads of the tribe of Levi, 1Ch 6:1-3, and reckons up the high priests in the line of Eleazar, to the Babylonish captivity, 1Ch 6:4-15 gives an account of the families of the sons of Levi, 1Ch 6:16-30 and of those Levites that were employed as singers, and in other ministrations in the sanctuary in the times of David and Solomon, 1Ch 6:31-49, then follows a repetition of the sons of Aaron in the line of Eleazar, to the said times, 1Ch 6:50-53, and a recital of the dwelling places of the Levites in the several tribes, 1Ch 6:54-81.
