1 Samuel 27:3-12

3 Y moró David con Aquis en Gat, él y los suyos, cada uno con su familia; David con sus dos mujeres, Ahinoam jezreelita, y Abigail, la que fue mujer de Nabal el del Carmelo

4 Y vino la nueva a Saúl que David había huido a Gat, y no lo buscó más

5 Y David dijo a Aquis: Si he hallado ahora gracia en tus ojos, séame dado lugar en algunas de las ciudades de la tierra, donde habite; porque ¿ha de morar tu siervo contigo en la ciudad real

6 Y Aquis le dio aquel día a Siclag. De aquí fue Siclag de los reyes de Judá hasta hoy

7 Y fue el número de los días que David habitó en la tierra de los filisteos, cuatro meses y algunos días

8 Y subía David con los suyos, y hacían entradas contra los gesureos, los gerzeos, y los amalecitas; porque éstos habitaban desde hacia largo tiempo la tierra, desde como se va a Shur hasta la tierra de Egipto

9 Y hería David la tierra, y no dejaba con vida hombre ni mujer; y se llevaba las ovejas y las vacas y los asnos y los camellos y las ropas; y volvía, y se venía a Aquis

10 Y decía Aquis: ¿Dónde habéis corrido hoy? Y David decía: Al mediodía de Judá, y al mediodía de Jerameel, o contra el mediodía de Ceni

11 Ni hombre ni mujer dejaba con vida David, que viniera a Gat; diciendo: Por ventura darían aviso de nosotros, diciendo: Esto hizo David. Y ésta era su costumbre todo el tiempo que moró en tierra de los filisteos

12 Y Aquis creía a David, diciendo en sí: El se hace abominable en su pueblo de Israel, y así será siempre mi siervo

INTRODUCTION TO FIRST SAMUEL 27

David, fearing he should perish by the hand of Saul at one time or another, went into the land of the Philistines, which Saul hearing of, sought no more after him, 1Sa 27:1-4; and finding favour in the eyes of the king of Gath, desired a place in his country might be given him to reside in; and accordingly Ziklag was given him, 1Sa 27:5-7; from whence he made excursions into the land of the Amalekites, and others, and utterly destroyed them; but imposed on the king of Gath, pretending he had made his road into the southern parts of Judah, 1Sa 27:8-12.
