13
When they had entered the city, they went up to 3the upperroomwhere they were staying; 4that is, Peter and John and [d]James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, [e]James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon the Zealot, and 5Judas the [f]son of [g]James.
14
Theseall with onemind6were continuallydevotingthemselves to prayer, along with 7the women, and Mary the 8mother of Jesus, and with His 9brothers.
15
[h]At thistimePeterstood up in the midst of 10the brethren (a gathering of aboutonehundred and twenty[i]persons was there together** ), and said,
16
"Brethren*, 11the Scripturehad to be fulfilled, which the HolySpiritforetold by the mouth of DavidconcerningJudas, 12who became a guide to those who arrestedJesus.
17
"For he was 13countedamong us and received his share in 14thisministry."
18
(Nowthisman15acquired a field with 16the price of his wickedness, and fallingheadlong, he burstopen in the middle and all his intestinesgushed out.
19
And it becameknown to all who were living in Jerusalem; so that in 17their ownlanguage that field was calledHakeldama, that is, Field of Blood.)

21
"Therefore it is necessary that of the men who have accompanied us all the time that 20the LordJesuswent in and out [k]among us-
22
21beginning[l]with the baptism of Johnuntil the day that He 22was taken up from us-one of these must become a 23witness with us of His resurrection."
23
So they putforwardtwomen, JosephcalledBarsabbas (who was also calledJustus ), and 24Matthias.
24
And they 25prayed and said, "You, Lord, 26whoknow the hearts of allmen, showwhichone of thesetwo You have chosen

26
And they [n]29drewlots for them, and the lotfell[o]to 30Matthias; and he was [p]added to 31the elevenapostles.
