11
I saythen*, Have they stumbledthat they should fall? God forbid*: but rather through theirfallsalvation is come unto the Gentiles, for toprovokethem to jealousy.
12
Nowif the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing[a] of them the riches of the Gentiles;how much moretheirfulness?
13
For I speak to youGentiles, inasmuch as**Iam the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnifymineoffice:
14
If by any meansI may provoke to emulation them which are myflesh, and might savesomeofthem.
15
Forif the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, butlifefrom the dead?
16
Forif the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: andif the root be holy,so are the branches.
17
And if some of the branches be broken off, andthou,being a wild olive tree, wert graffed inamongthem,[b]andwiththempartakest of the rootandfatness of the olive tree;
18
Boastnotagainst the branches.Butif thou boast, thoubearestnot the root, but the rootthee.
19
Thou wilt saythen, The branches were broken off, thatI might be graffed in.
20
Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, andthoustandest by faith.Benothighminded, butfear:
21
ForifGodsparednot the naturalbranches*, take heed lest*healsosparenotthee.
22
Beholdtherefore the goodnessandseverity of God:on them which fell*, severity;buttowardthee, goodness,if thou continue in his goodness:otherwisethoualso shalt be cut off.
23
Andtheyalso,if they abidenot still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: forGodisable to grafftheminagain.
24
Forifthou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wildbynature, and wert graffed contrary tonatureinto a good olive tree: how muchmore shall these, which be the naturalbranches, be graffed into their own olive tree?
